Three Percenters
The Three Percenters are a loose anti-government network comprising militia groups and individual activists in the United States. Once a unified organization known as The Three Percenters Original, the movement has evolved into a number of ideologically diverse groups with no centralized leadership at the national level. The movement adherents advocates gun ownership rights and resistance to the U.S. federal government. The group's name derives from the erroneous claim that "the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists" during the American Revolution. Though the Three Percent movement is broadly united by support for gun rights and has been described by Malcolm Nance as right-libertarian, it also encompasses nativist and Christian fundamentalist elements involved in planning bomb attacks. Shooting Of Michael Brown
On August 9, 2014, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Brown was accompanied by his 22-year-old male friend Dorian Johnson. Wilson, a white male Ferguson police officer, said that an altercation ensued when Brown attacked him in his police vehicle for control of Wilson's service pistol. The struggle continued until the pistol fired. Johnson said that Wilson initiated a confrontation by grabbing Brown by the neck through Wilson's patrol car window, threatening him and then shooting at him. At this point, both Wilson and Johnson state that Brown and Johnson fled, with Wilson pursuing Brown shortly thereafter. Wilson stated that Brown stopped and charged him after a short pursuit. Oklahoma City Bombing
The Oklahoma City bombing was a domestic terrorist truck bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, United States, on April 19, 1995. The bombing remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. Perpetrated by anti-government extremists Timothy McVeigh, the mastermind, and accomplice Terry Nichols, the bombing at 9:02 a.m. killed 168 people, injured 684, and destroyed more than a third of the building, which had to be demolished. The Road To Serfdom
''The Road to Serfdom'' is a book by the Austrian-British economist and philosopher Friedrich Hayek. The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is a communist party in the United States. The SWP began as a group which, because it supported Leon Trotsky over Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, was expelled from the Communist Party USA. Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) was a national student activist organization in the United States during the 1960s and was one of the principal representations of the New Left. Spencer Sunshine is an American independent scholar and political analyst, primarily known for his writings on right-wing extremism. He was an associate fellow at Political Research Associates from 2013 to 2019. In 2024 he published an academic book on the history and reception of the neo-Nazi book ''Siege'', which was positively reviewed. Life and work Sunshine grew up in rural Georgia in the 1970s and 1980s, where he was threatened for having a Jewish father. In the late 1980s he began participating in the punk rock scene, where he became involved in anarchist politics. He earned a doctorate in Sociology from the City University of New York, writing his dissertation on post-1960s American anarchism.
