Thomas Krüger
Thomas Krüger (born 20 June 1959) is a German politician. He is the President of the Federal Agency for Civil Education (since 2000) and the President of the German Children's Fund (since 1995). He served as the final Governing Mayor of East Berlin in 1991. Biography Thomas Krüger was born in Buttstädt, East Germany on 20 June 1959. He served on the ''Bundestag'' from 1994 to 1998 and was the 7th and final Lord Mayor of East Berlin, serving in 1991. In 2006 he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Tino Schwierzina
Tino Antoni Schwierzina (30 May 1927 – 29 December 2003) was a German lawyer and politician. Between May 1990 and January 1991 he served as the first and last freely elected mayor of East Berlin. His term of office was dominated by the fusion of the two halves of Berlin which had been politically (and increasingly also, until 1989, physically) divided since before 1949. By some criteria Tino Schwierzina was also the last mayor of East Berlin ahead of reunification. Life Early years Schwierzina was born in Chorzów in Upper Silesia. His father was a doctor. His grandmother had come from Italy which explained his unusual (in Germany) name. From 1933 he attended a school in Magdeburg. In 1944 he was conscripted into the Wehrmacht, and detained by US army as a prisoner of war from 1945 till 1948. Marek Władysław Prawda (born 1 October 1956 in Kielce) is a Polish sociologist and diplomat; since January 2024 he serves as Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between April 2016 and 2021 he was Head of Representation – Poland at European Commission. Life Prawda studied economics at the University of Leipzig and sociology at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Eberhard Diepgen (born 13 November 1941) is a German lawyer and politician who served as Mayor of West Berlin from 1984 to 1989 and again as Mayor of (united) Berlin, from 1991 until 2001, as member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
