Thomas H. Anderson, Jr.
Thomas H. Anderson Jr. (born March 17, 1946) is an American diplomat. He was Ambassador of the United States to Barbados, Dominica, St Lucia, Antigua, St. Vincent, and St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla from 1984 to 1986 under U.S. President Ronald W. Reagan. Biography Anderson was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1968 from the University of Mississippi at Oxford. He is a member of Epsilon Xi chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity at the University of Mississippi. Anderson served in the Mississippi National Guard before joining Hancock Bank. He worked as assistant to the vice president of the Hancock Bank in Gulfport from 1969 to 1972. From 1972 to 1984, Anderson was an assistant to U.S. Representative Trent Lott of Mississippi's 5th congressional district, since the 4th district. Gulfport ( ) is a city in Harrison County, Mississippi, United States, and its co-county seat. Trent Lott
Chester Trent Lott Sr. (born October 9, 1941) is an American lobbyist, lawyer, author, and politician who represented Mississippi in the United States House of Representatives from 1973 to 1989 and in the United States Senate from 1989 to 2007. Lott served in numerous leadership positions in both chambers of Congress as one of the first of a wave of Republican Party (United States), Republicans winning seats in Southern states that had been Solid South, solidly Democratic. Gary Eugene Taylor (born September 17, 1953) is an American politician who was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1989 to 2011 and previously a member of the Mississippi Senate from 1983 to 1989. He was defeated for re-election in 2010 by State Representative Steven Palazzo. In 2014, he changed his long-time membership from the Democratic Party, becoming a Republican. The same year, he ran for election against Palazzo to return to the House of Representatives. Securing only 43 percent of the vote, Taylor lost in the primary. Following his congressional career, Taylor served on the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission until 2014.
