Thomas Roberts Ferguson
Thomas Roberts Ferguson (December 1818 – September 15, 1879) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Cardwell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1867 to 1873 and Cardwell in the House of Commons of Canada as a Conservative member from 1867 to 1872. His niece was women's rights activist Emily Murphy (née Ferguson), one of " The Famous Five". Life and career Thomas Roberts Ferguson was born in County Cavan, Ireland in 1818 and came to Canada with his family during the 1830s. They settled near Cookstown and he became a farmer and later a merchant there. He was a member of the Orange Order, becoming deputy grand master in 1858. Ferguson was a member of the council for Innisfil Township from 1852 to 1873, serving as reeve for 18 years. In 1858, he was elected to represent South Simcoe in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and served until Confederation. He supported representation by population. Thomas William "Tom" Ferguson (July 8, 1943 – April 14, 2006) was an American medical doctor, educator, and author. He was an early advocate for patient empowerment, urging patients to educate themselves, to assume control of their own health care, and to use the Internet as a way of accomplishing those goals. Personal life, education, and career He was born in Ross, California and grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. He eventually settled in Austin, Texas, hometown of his wife Meredith Mitchell Dreiss. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and a master's degree in creative writing from San Francisco State University. Murders Of Harold And Joey Pugh
On July 20, 1997, during a fishing trip in Cane Creek, Alabama, 41-year-old Harold Alan Pugh (May 12, 1956 – July 20, 1997) and his 11-year-old son Joey Alan Pugh (June 22, 1986 – July 20, 1997) were attacked by a group of five men, who wanted to steal the Pughs' truck as their getaway vehicle in an upcoming bank robbery plan. The Pughs were shot to death by two of the five bank robbers, Michael Craig Maxwell (born November 26, 1971) and Thomas Dale Ferguson (born July 20, 1973), and their bodies were found later in the day at the creek itself. Ferguson, Maxwell and their three accomplices were all arrested and charged with murdering the father-son pair. Out of the five, Donald Ray Risley testified against the others and pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in exchange for not being charged with murder, and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen is the last remaining of the old established Irish linen Jacquard weavers in Ireland. Situated in Banbridge, Northern Ireland it has been weaving since 1854. The Company, bears the name of its founder, Thomas Ferguson (1820–1900), who was born at Clare, near the village of Waringstown in County Down. They are almost exclusively weavers of linen fabrics, made from yarns spun from 100% flax fibre.
