Thomas Dooley
Thomas Dooley (born May 12, 1961) is an American former soccer player and coach. He played as a defender and defensive midfielder and was a long-time member and former captain of the United States national team. Dooley recently served as the head coach of the Philippines national team. Early life Dooley was born to a German mother and a U.S. Army father. Club career Dooley played as a forward with amateur team FK Pirmasens. He started his professional career in 1984 with third division club FC Homburg. He moved to midfield with Homburg and helped the team move steadily up the German leagues, until they finally reached the Bundesliga. He moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1988 and helped them to the German Cup in 1990 and the Bundesliga title in 1991. He also played as they won the 1991 DFB-Supercup. AFC Challenge Cup
The AFC Challenge Cup was an international football competition for Asian Football Confederation (AFC) member countries that was categorized as "emerging countries" in the "Vision Asia" programme. "Vision Asia", created by former AFC president, Mohammed Bin Hammam, is the AFC's plan for a continent wide programme to raise the standards of Asian football at all levels. The AFC Challenge Cup, which reflected the philosophy of Vision Asia, was created for teams to experience playing in a continental competition with the possibility to win an AFC trophy and to potentially discover new talent. Lothar Matthäus
Lothar Herbert Matthäus (; born 21 March 1961) is a German football pundit and former professional player and manager. After captaining West Germany to victory in the 1990 FIFA World Cup where he lifted the World Cup trophy, he was awarded the Ballon d'Or. In 1991, he was named the first FIFA World Player of the Year, and remains the only German to have received the award. He was also included in the Ballon d'Or Dream Team in 2020. Mike Duhaney
Mike Duhaney (born April 5, 1974) is an American retired professional soccer player who played in Major League Soccer (MLS) and the 2. Bundesliga. He was the 1997 Major League Soccer Rookie of the Year. Career Duhaney played college soccer at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1992 to 1994, where he was named first-team All-Conference in 1994. Upon graduating in 1994, he spent all of 1995 training full-time with the U.S. U-23 Olympic team. He also played four games for the U.S. team at the 1995 Pan American Games. Duhaney was selected eighty-seventh overall in the 1996 MLS Inaugural Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Mutiny. He lost the entire 1996 season due to a knee injury. The 1991 DFB-Supercup was the fifth edition of the DFB-Supercup. Uniquely, because Germany had just been reunified, the competition featured four teams instead of the usual two: The previous season's Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal winners, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Werder Bremen, respectively, were joined by their counterparts from the East. Hansa Rostock had won both the NOFV-Oberliga and the NOFV-Pokal, so the losing cup finalists, Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt, took the fourth place in the competition.
