Thomas Böcker
Thomas Böcker (born October 8, 1977) is a German producer. He is the founder of ''Merregnon Studios'' and artistic director of his orchestral music projects ''Merregnon'' and Symphonic Game Music Concerts, ''Game Concerts''. In 2003, he produced the first live orchestra performance of video game music outside Japan at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Germany, which led to his international series ''Game Concerts'', including the ''Final Symphony'' world tour from 2013, the first live performance of video game music by the London Symphony Orchestra, and from 2021 the symphonic fairy tale ''Merregnon: Land of Silence'', premiered by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. The latest production in the series, ''Merregnon: Heart of Ice'', was first performed by the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz in 2024. ''Merregnon Studios'' is a company based in Dresden, Germany, founded by Thomas Böcker. It produces recordings and concerts worldwide, including the orchestral ''Merregnon'' and '' Game Concerts'' series. History ''Merregnon Studios'' was founded in 1999 by Thomas Böcker. Having spent time in Japan and as a lifelong fan of video game music, Böcker sought to bring orchestral video game music concerts to Europe and produce storytelling arrangements and scores. The earliest example of his vision came with the first volume in the ''Merregnon'' CD series in 2000. His role as executive producer and project director provided him with contacts to conductors, orchestras and composers from around the world, and he began to develop the concept of a series of video game music orchestra concerts. Czech National Symphony Orchestra
The Czech National Symphony Orchestra (ČNSO or CNSO) () is a Czech symphony orchestra based in Prague. The orchestra principally gives concerts at the Smetana Hall, Municipal House (''Smetanova síň Obecního domu''). The CNSO also performs at the Rudolfinum. History In 1993, trumpet player Jan Hasenöhrl and Zdeněk Košler formed the CNSO, with Košler as the orchestra's first chief conductor. Košler held the post until 1996. From 1996 to 2007, the American conductor Paul Freeman was chief conductor of the CNSO. Since 2007, Libor Pešek is the orchestra's chief conductor. He is scheduled to stand down from the post after the 2018–2019 season. Symphonic Legends – Music From Nintendo
''Symphonic Legends – Music from Nintendo'' was a symphonic tribute concert held in Cologne, Germany on 23 September 2010 by the WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, featuring video game music from Japanese game developer Nintendo. The concert featured symphonic arrangements found in some of Nintendo's biggest game series, such as ''Legend of Zelda'', ''Super Mario Bros.'', ''Pikmin'', ''F-Zero'' and ''Donkey Kong''. The concert was produced and directed by Thomas Böcker, with arrangements provided by Finnish composers and musicians Jonne Valtonen and Roger Wanamo, as well as Japanese game music composers Masashi Hamauzu, Hayato Matsuo, Shiro Hamaguchi and German film composer Torsten Rasch. The Kölner Philharmonie is a symphonic concert hall located in Cologne, Germany. It is part of the building ensemble of the Museum Ludwig and was opened in 1986. Allister Brimble
Allister Brimble is a British video game composer. He began composing music and sound effects for the video game industry in the mid-1980s. He also produced various audio tracks, as "Brimble's Beats", that were distributed on cover disks of magazines including ''CU Amiga'' and ''Amiga Format''. Brimble works as a freelance musician and sound designer for the games and console industry, and used to work alongside colleague Anthony Putson at the now defunct Orchestral Media Developments. He wrote the theme tune for an indoor theme park in Abu Dhabi. Brimble's extensive experience in alternative formats allowed him to compose for many gaming platforms. Rob Hubbard (born 1955) is a British composer best known for his musical and programming work for microcomputers of the 1980s, such as the Commodore 64. Biography Early life and career Hubbard was born in 1955 in Kingston upon Hull, England. Hubbard first started playing music at age seven. Whilst at school he played in bands. After leaving school, he went to music college.
