Thirupaachi
''Thirupaachi'' is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by Perarasu (in his directorial debut) and produced by R. B. Choudary under Super Good Films. The film stars Vijay, alongside Trisha, Mallika, J. Livingston, Pasupathy, Benjamin, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Vaiyapuri and Manoj K. Jayan. The music was composed by Dhina, who jointly composed one song each with Devi Sri Prasad and Mani Sharma. The cinematography and editing were handled by S. Saravanan and V. Jaishankar. ''Thirupaachi'' was released on 14 January 2005, and was one of the most successful Tamil films of the year. It was remade in Kannada as '' Thangigagi'' and in Telugu as '' Annavaram''. Perarasu (born 8 January 1967) is an Indian film director who works primarily in Tamil cinema and is best known for masala films with Vijay and Bharath. Perarasu has also been credited as an actor, music director, singer and lyricist in some of his ventures. Personal life Perarasu, was born on 8 January 1967 in Natarasankottai in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu. Perarasu married Shanthi at Nattarasankottai on June 11, 2000 and a girl child Viruthika was born to them in July 2001. Benjamin is an Indian actor and comedian who has appeared in Tamil language films in supporting roles. Career Benjamin made his acting debut through Cheran's ''Vetri Kodi Kattu'' (2000), where he played the foul-mouthed brother of Vadivelu's character.
