Our Bande Apart
''Our Bande Apart'' is the seventh studio album by American alternative rock band Third Eye Blind. It was released on September 24, 2021. Background After releasing their sixth studio album, ''Screamer'', in October 2019, Third Eye Blind was able to complete the first leg of the tour supporting it but was forced to cancel the second leg in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic—the first time they had to cancel in 22 years. Unable to tour, the band turned to recording further music. Writing and recording Stephan Jenkins started the writing sessions for the album in early 2020, in seclusion, under lockdown in the early days of the pandemic. Recording began as soon as the lockdowns ended and the band could reassemble. Jenkins noted the sessions were the most enjoyable he had ever experienced, due to everyone's excitement to be together and creating music again. Plans for the release initially started as an EP while recording first demos, but later expanded to a full-length album. D ... Screamer (album)
''Screamer'' is the sixth studio album by the American alternative rock band Third Eye Blind. It was released on October 18, 2019 by Mega Collider Records. Background Frontman Stephan Jenkins had made many different comments about the prospect of the band recording a sixth studio album prior to the release of ''Screamer''. As far back as 2012, Jenkins stated that the band would not ever make a sixth studio album, stating that after the release of their fifth studio album, 2015's ''Dopamine'', they would cease recording full albums in favor of touring and recording smaller EP releases. In the coming years, the band would focus on EP releases, including '' We Are Drugs'' in 2016, a cancelled EP entitled ''Summer Gods'' that was supposed to explore trap music in 2017, and an EP of cover songs, '' Thanks for Everything'', in 2018. Jenkins' stance on recording an album wavered at times in this era, sometimes referring to ''Summer Gods'' as an album and explaining that the recordi ... Thanks For Everything (EP)
''Thanks for Everything'' is an EP by Third Eye Blind. It consists of seven cover songs and was released on August 24, 2018. Background After extensive gaps in album releases by the band between their last studio albums, six years between '' Out of the Vein'' (2003) and ''Ursa Major'' (2009), followed by another six years until ''Dopamine'' (2015), Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins announced the band would be moving away from full-album releases in favor of more frequent, smaller EP releases moving forward. Jenkins made good on the promise, just a year later releasing the seven-track EP '' We Are Drugs''. The band's next plans included releasing a 2017 EP called ''Summer Gods'', to coincide with a tour of the same name, and would have explored a variety of new sounds for the band, including trap music. However, the EP was not finished in time to be released during the tour, and was instead changed into simply a live album of performances from the tour. In June 2018, it w ... Preceded by the singles " Cop vs. Phone Girl" and "Company of Strangers", ''We Are Drugs'' was released on October 7, 2016. Background As early as 2012, Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins stated that following the release of their fifth album, they would cease releasing full albums, in favor of smaller EP releases. After the band released their fifth album, ''Dopamine'', in June 2015, Jenkins stated there were five to six songs from the ''Dopamine'' sessions that—once he had time to finish them after the band finished touring to support ''Dopamine''—he would want to release. Several months later, Jenkins began discussing plans for a new EP release in mid-2016. Writing and recording Contrary to the band's previous few albums—'' Out of the Vein'' (2003), ''Ursa Major'' (2009), and ''Dopamine'' (2015), which were recorded over the course of four to six years—the band was limited to o ... Extended Play
An extended play (EP) is a Sound recording and reproduction, musical recording that contains more tracks than a Single (music), single but fewer than an album. Contemporary EPs generally contain up to eight tracks and have a playing time of 15 to 30 minutes. An EP is usually less cohesive than an album and more "non-committal". An extended play (EP) originally referred to a specific type of 45 revolutions per minute, rpm phonograph record other than 78 rpm standard play (SP) and 33 rpm LP record, long play (LP), but , also applies to mid-length Compact disc, CDs and Music download, downloads. EPs are considered "less expensive and less time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album, and have long been popular with punk and indie bands. In K-pop and J-pop, they are usually referred to as Mini-LP, mini-albums. Background History EPs were released in various sizes in different eras.
