The Wall Live (2010–2013)
The Wall Live was a worldwide concert tour by Roger Waters, formerly of Pink Floyd. The tour is the first time the Pink Floyd album ''The Wall'' has been performed in its entirety by the band or any of its former members since Waters The Wall – Live in Berlin, performed the album live in Berlin 21 July 1990. The first leg of the tour grossed in North America over $89.5 million from 56 concerts. It was the second-highest-grossing concert tour in North America in 2010 and the third-highest-grossing concert tour worldwide as of 2013. In 2013, the tour held the record for being the highest-grossing tour for a solo musician, surpassing the previous record holder, Madonna (the record was later eclipsed by Ed Sheeran). It is currently the 7th List of highest-grossing concert tours, highest-grossing tour of all-time. Roger Waters
George Roger Waters (born 6 September 1943) is an English musician and singer-songwriter. In 1965, he co-founded the rock band Pink Floyd as the bassist. Following the departure of the group's main songwriter Syd Barrett in 1968, Waters became Pink Floyd's lyricist, co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader until his departure in 1985. Pink Floyd achieved international success with the concept albums ''The Dark Side of the Moon'' (1973), ''Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd album), Wish You Were Here'' (1975), ''Animals (Pink Floyd album), Animals'' (1977), ''The Wall'' (1979), and ''The Final Cut (album), The Final Cut'' (1983). By the early 1980s, they had become one of the most acclaimed and commercially successful groups in popular music. Amid creative differences, Waters left in 1985 and began a legal dispute over the use of the band's name and material. They settled out of court in 1987. Christopher Joel "Kipp" Lennon (born March 12, 1960) is an American musician, songwriter, and actor. Lennon is a founding member of the folk rock band Venice (band), Venice. His role in the band includes performing as a lead vocalist and percussionist. Lennon was aldo a member of the progressive rock band Ambrosia (band), Ambrosia from 2021 to 2024. ''The Wall'' is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 30 November 1979 by Harvest/EMI and Columbia/CBS Records. It is a rock opera which explores Pink, a jaded rock star, as he constructs a psychological "wall" of social isolation. ''The Wall'' topped the US charts for 15 weeks and reached number three in the UK. It initially received mixed reviews from critics, many of whom found it overblown and pretentious, but later received accolades as one of the greatest albums of all time. The bassist, Roger Waters, conceived ''The Wall'' during Pink Floyd's 1977 In the Flesh tour, modelling the character of Pink after himself and the former member Syd Barrett.
