The Summit (Wheatfield, New York)
The Summit, formerly Summit Park Mall, was an enclosed shopping mall in Wheatfield, New York. Opened in 1972, the mall became largely vacant by the late 1990s. It underwent renovations in 2004 and 2005 which added new anchor stores and tenants, but after the mall's developers filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009, the complex was closed except for three anchor stores: Sears, The Bon-Ton and Save-A-Lot, with two more vacant anchors last occupied by Steve & Barry's and a Macy's closeout store. As of September 2017, Save-A-Lot has closed permanently, leaving only Sears and The Bon-Ton still open in the mall. On April 18, 2018, it was announced that The Bon-Ton would be closing in August 2018 as it is going out of business, leaving Sears as the only tenant left. The Summit (TV Series)
The Summit is an Australian reality television series which first premiered on 14 May 2023. The premise being that a group of contestants have to reach the top of a mountain, undertaking various tasks along the way. Each contestant has a backpack with a portion of the grand prize of A$1,000,000. The series is produced by Nine Network and Endemol Shine Australia. Auditions for a second season opened in August 2023, with filming to take place over three weeks between November and December 2023. Season two premiered on Sunday, 12 May 2024. In October 2024, the series was not renewed and won’t return in 2025. Format Contestants must all inevitably work together to complete several tasks, within only fourteen days. They are initially strangers to each other. Where a contestant stops competing, the prize pot significantly reduces; similarly all the prize pot will disappear if the syndicate does not reach the summit in the allocated time. WAPS (FM)
WAPS (91.3 MHz) is a non-commercial educational FM radio station licensed to Akron, Ohio. Owned and operated by Akron Public Schools, the station airs an Adult Album Alternative (AAA) format as “91.3 the Summit”. WAPS has a standard analog transmission and broadcasts to over three HD Radio channels and is available online. WAPS primarily serves the Akron metro area but also simulcasts over a single full power repeater: WKTL (90.7 FM), licensed to Struthers, and operated by Struthers High School, which broadcasts the WAPS signal to the Youngstown metro area, as well as translator W211BT, licensed to Athens. The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, often shortened to Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR) or The Summit, is a High Adventure bases of Scouting America, High Adventure base owned by Scouting America and located in Fayette County, West Virginia, Fayette and Raleigh County, West Virginia, Raleigh counties, near Beckley, West Virginia. It comprises the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base, James C. Justice National Scout Camp, and John D. Tickle National Training and Leadership Center. The reserve is over in size and is the current home of the National Scout jamboree (Boy Scouts of America), National Scout Jamboree. Summit League
The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States, from Minnesota in the east, to the Dakotas, Nebraska and Colorado to the West, and Missouri and Oklahoma to the South. Founded as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities in 1982, it rebranded as the Mid-Continent Conference in 1989, then again as the Summit League on June 1, 2007. The league headquarters are in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The membership currently consists of nine full members plus six associate members. Simon Robert Armitage (born 26 May 1963) is an English poet, playwright, musician and novelist. He was appointed Poet Laureate on 10 May 2019. He is professor of poetry at the University of Leeds. He has published over 20 collections of poetry, starting with ''Zoom!'' in 1989. Many of his poems concern his home town in West Yorkshire; these are collected in '' Magnetic Field: The Marsden Poems''. He has translated classic poems including the ''Odyssey'', the Alliterative ''Morte Arthure'', ''Pearl'', and ''Sir Gawain and the Green Knight''.
