''Look Around'' is the third studio album by Sérgio Mendes and Brasil '66. It was released in 1967. Following this album, Mendes dismissed the musicians and singer Janis Hansen and brought in Karen Phillip to sing with holdover Lani Hall. Songs Mendes and Brasil '66 performed the Oscar-nominated Burt Bacharach/Hal David song " The Look of Love", one of their biggest hits, on the Academy Awards telecast in March 1968. Sérgio Santos Mendes (; 11 February 1941 – 5 September 2024) was a Brazilian musician. His career took off with worldwide hits by his band Brasil '66. He released 35 albums and was known for playing bossa nova, often mixed with funk. He was nominated for an Academy Awards, Oscar for Academy Award for Best Original Song, Best Original Song in 2012 as a co-writer of "Real in Rio" from the animated film ''Rio (2011 film), Rio''. Mendes was primarily known in the United States, where his albums were recorded and where most of his touring took place. Stan Getz (born Stanley Gayetski; February 2, 1927 – June 6, 1991) was an American jazz saxophonist. Playing primarily the tenor saxophone, Getz was known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, with his prime influence being the wispy, mellow timbre of his idol, Lester Young.
