The Best Of Enjoy! Records
''The Best of Enjoy! Records'' is a 1989 compilation album of early hip hop music released by the Enjoy! Records music label. The album was part of a series of compilation albums from Hot Records covering various releases from American and British independent music labels. Retrospective reviews of the album from ''The Rough Guide to Hip-Hop'' and ''Spin'' and the ''Oakland Tribune'' as containing some of the best music of early hip hop. Content Hot Productions released a nine-volume compilation album of "Best Of..." series in late 1989 that were double albums that trace back to the beginning of various New York music scenes, British independent dance music, and more. These ranged from compilations for "O" Records, Personal Records, as well as early hip hop music from the Enjoy! label. ''Spin'' (stylized in all caps) is an American music magazine founded in 1985 by publisher Bob Guccione, Jr. Now owned by Next Management Partners, the magazine is an online publication since it stopped issuing a print edition in 2012. History Early history ''Spin'' was established in 1985 by Bob Guccione, Jr. In August 1987, the publisher announced it would stop publishing ''Spin'', but Guccione Jr. retained control of the magazine and partnered with former MTV president David H. Horowitz to quickly revive the magazine. During this time, it was published by Camouflage Publishing with Guccione Jr. serving as president and chief executive and Horowitz as investor and chairman. Rough Guides Ltd is a British travel guide book and reference publisher, which has been owned by APA Publications since November 2017. In addition to publishing guidebooks, the company also provides a tailor-made trips service based on customers’ individual criteria. The Rough Guides travel titles cover more than 200 destinations beginning with the 1982 ''Rough Guide to Greece'', a book conceived by Mark Ellingham, who was dissatisfied with the polarisation of existing guidebooks between cost-obsessed student guides and "heavyweight cultural tomes". The Fearless Four (group)
The Fearless Four (also known as Fearless 4 and Fearless Four) is an American old school hip hop group from Harlem, New York. The group is best known for its 1982 single "Rockin' It", which was based on the Kraftwerk track "The Man-Machine", and was featured in the 1983 documentary ''Style Wars''. Originally, the Fearless Four was a two-member group called the Houserockers Crew. Later, it reappeared as a six-member group consisting of the Great Peso, Devastating Tito, Mighty Mike C, Krazy Eddie, DLB, and Master OC. In 1983, the group collaborated with rapper Kurtis Blow to produce the single "Problems of the World." The Treacherous Three was a pioneering American hip hop group that was formed in 1978 and consisted of DJ Easy Lee, Kool Moe Dee, L.A. Sunshine, Special K and Spoonie Gee (who left in the late 1970s), with occasional contributions from DJ Dano B, DJ Reggie Reg and DJ Crazy Eddie. They first appeared on record in 1980 on the B-side of Spoonie Gee's single, "Love Rap". Spoonie Gee
Gabriel Jackson (born May 27, 1963), better known by his stage name Spoonie Gee, is one of the earliest rap artists, and one of the few to have released rap records in the 1970s. He has been credited with originating the term hip hop and some of the themes in his music were precursors of gangsta rap.
