Teynampet
Teynampet, also Teynampettai, is one of the busiest commercial localities in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Part of the city's central business district, it is surrounded by Gopalapuram, Chennai, Gopalapuram in the north, Mylapore in the east, Alwarpet in the south, Nandanam in the south-west and T. Nagar, T.Nagar in the west. The Teynampet Signal is one of the most important road junctions in Chennai and witnesses some of the worst traffic during peak hours in the city. Teynampet is home to some of the most expensive real estate and properties in Chennai. The Teynampet section of Anna Salai hosts some of the most important Government offices and luxury hotels in the city. Etymology Teynampet is along Anna Salai, the arterial road of Chennai. Alwarpet
Alwarpet is a residential zone in central Chennai and is a part of the greater Teynampet region. It is surrounded by Teynampet in the north and west, Mylapore, Mandavelli and Abhiramapuram in the east, Raja Annamalaipuram in the south, and Nandanam in the southwest. It is among the most upscale neighbourhoods in Chennai. The geographical location of this area allows centralized access to all parts of the city, so it is typically called as "Heart of Chennai". Hyatt Regency Chennai
Hyatt Regency Chennai is an 18-storey Hotel rating, five-star luxury hotel located on Anna Salai at Teynampet in Chennai, India. Designed in 1986, the construction of the hotel started in the 1990s. Anna Salai (), named for C. N. Annadurai, formerly known as St. Thomas Mount Road or simply Mount Road, is an arterial road in Chennai, India. It starts at the Cooum Creek, south of Fort St George, leading in a south-westerly direction towards St. Thomas Mount, and ends at the Kathipara Junction in Guindy. Semmozhi Poonga
Semmozhi Poonga, variously spelled as Semmoli Poonga (literally translated to "Classical Language Park"), is a botanical garden in Chennai set up jointly by the Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The garden was opened on 24 November 2010 by then chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and is the first botanical garden in the city. The garden is located in the Cathedral Road–Anna Salai junction, opposite the American Consulate, Chennai, American Consulate, on the erstwhile Drive-in Woodlands Hotel. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (; ; DMK) is an Indian political party based in the state of Tamil Nadu, where it is currently the ruling party, and the union territory of Puducherry (union territory), Puducherry, where it is currently the main opposition. Nandanam
Nandanam is a neighborhood in Chennai, India. It is located on the northern banks of Adyar River, on the other side of Kotturpuram, and is bound by Saidapet, T. Nagar and Teynampet. Anna Flyover
Anna Flyover, also known as Gemini Flyover, is a dual-armed grade separator in the central business district of Chennai, India. Built in 1973, it is the first flyover in Chennai and the third in India. It was the longest flyover in the country at its completion. It allows traffic movements on Anna Salai (formerly Mount Road) to cross traffic with grade separation. The area and the flyover is named after the now-demolished Gemini Studios.
