Teskey

Around 80% to 90% of the Teskeys in the world today are descended from the "Palatines#Re-settlement in Ireland, Irish Palatine" family of that name, founded by the man now referred to as Jacob Teskey, or Jacob 1659 (after his apparent year of birth). The term "Irish Palatine" was given to families that left the Rhineland-Palatinate, German Pfalz (also known as the Southern or Rhenish Palatinate) in 1709 and eventually settled in Ireland. Around 100 of these German-speaking families settled on the Southwell estate near Rathkeale in County Limerick. Amongst them was Jacob, with his wife and two sons. The Teskey spelling first appeared in Ireland a few years after 1709. The Teskey Brothers
The Teskey Brothers are an Australian blues rock band from Melbourne, named after the two brothers who formed the group in 2008: Josh Teskey ( vocals, rhythm guitar) and Sam Teskey ( lead guitar). In 2019 they signed with Glassnote Records and Ivy League Records. They have released two albums, '' Half Mile Harvest'' (2017) and '' Run Home Slow'' (2019). At the 2019 ARIA Music Awards, The Teskey Brothers were nominated for seven awards. They won three categories for the album, ''Run Home Slow'', Best Group, Best Blues and Roots Album and Engineer of the Year (Sam Teskey). Career The band was formed in 2008 by two brothers, Josh Teskey (vocals) and Sam Teskey (guitar), along with Brendon Love (bass) and Liam Gough (drums). Laureen Ann Harper ( Teskey; born June 23, 1963) is a Canadian graphic designer. She is married to Canada's 22nd prime minister, Stephen Harper. Palatines
Palatines (german: Pfälzer), also known as the Palatine Dutch, are the people and princes of Palatinates (Holy Roman principalities) of the Holy Roman Empire. The Palatine diaspora includes the Pennsylvania Dutch and New York Dutch. Rathkeale
Rathkeale () is a town in west County Limerick, in Ireland. It is 30 km (18 mi) southwest of Limerick city on the N21 road to Tralee, County Kerry, and lies on the River Deel. Rathkeale has a significant Irish Traveller population, and since 1995, almost half the town residents were members of the traveling community. Rathkeale also has the largest concentration of descendants of the German Palatines who immigrated to Ireland in the early 18th century. Collingwood is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is situated on Nottawasaga Bay at the southern point of Georgian Bay. Collingwood is well known as a tourist destination, for its skiing in the winter, and limestone caves along the Niagara Escarpment in the summer.
