Teodoro Herbosa
Teodoro Javier Herbosa (born May 5, 1958) is a Filipino physician serving as the secretary of health since 2023 in the administration of President Bongbong Marcos. He previously served as an undersecretary of the Department of Health, executive vice president of the University of the Philippines, and special adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19. Education Herbosa is an alumnus of the University of the Philippines. He graduated from UP Diliman with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1979 and finished his studies in medicine at UP Manila by 1983. During his years at UP, he became a fellow of the Upsilon Sigma Phi. He would accomplish an international diploma course in emergency and crisis management from the University of Geneva in Switzerland and finished his post-graduate studies at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University in Israel. The Philippine Orthopedic Center is a 700-bed tertiary special hospital under the Department of Health of the Philippines, specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and serves as a center for trauma and orthopedics. The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the forum through which the World Health Organization (WHO) is governed by its 194 World Health Organization#Membership, member states. It is the world's highest health policy setting body and is composed of health ministers from member states. The members of the WHA generally meet every year in May in Geneva at the Palace of Nations, the location of WHO Headquarters. Danilo Lardizabal Concepcion (born February 7, 1958), often referred to by his nickname DaniCon, is a Filipino lawyer who served as the 21st president of the University of the Philippines. History The holiday traces its roots to the Cry of Pugad Lawin in August 1896, which marked the beginning of the Philippine Revolution. The date and the location of the cry have been long disputed. From 1911 to 1962, the cry was thought to have emanated from Balintawak (now in modern-day Balingasa, Quezon City) on August 26.
