Tenleytown–Glover Park Line
The Tenleytown–Glover Park Line, designated Route N8, was a bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Tenleytown–AU station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Glover Park. The line operated every 20–40 minutes on weekdays only with trips roughly taking 30 minutes. The route was discontinued on September 23, 2011 due to low ridership. History Route N8 originally operated between Friendship Heights station and Glen Echo Park which replaced route C1. However, the route was discontinued in the 1990s and replaced by Ride On route 29 which operates on the same route as route N8 but is extended to Bethesda station. The line was reincarnated as the Van Ness–Wesley Heights Line in 1999 to operate daily service between Van Ness–UDC station and Wesley Heights in conjunction with the District of Columbia Small Bus Program. Tenleytown–AU station is a subway station on the Red Line of the Washington Metro in Washington, D.C. Located in the Upper Northwest neighborhood, it is the last station on the Red Line heading outbound wholly within the District of Columbia; the next stop, Friendship Heights, lies within both the District and the state of Maryland. Dupont Circle station is an underground rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Washington Metro in Washington, D.C. Located below the traffic circle, it is one of the busiest stations in the Metro system, with an average of 16,948 entries each weekday. The station parallels Connecticut Avenue NW between the southern edge of the circle to the south and Q Street NW to the north. The Massachusetts Avenue Line, designated Route N2, N4, N6, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Friendship Heights station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Farragut Square in Downtown Washington DC. The line operates every 27 minutes during the weekdays and every 40 minutes on weekends. Trips take roughly 45 minutes to complete. Glover Park–Dupont Circle Line
The Glover Park–Dupont Circle Line, designated Route D2, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Glover Park and Dupont Circle station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro. The line operated every 20–24 minutes during the day and every 40 minutes during the evening. Route D2 trips were roughly 20 minutes long. Background Route D2 operated daily between Glover Park and Dupont Circle station connecting Glover Park, Burleith, and Georgetown residents to Metrorail as there are no stations in Georgetown. Van Ness–UDC station is a Washington Metro station serving the Forest Hills and North Cleveland Park neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., United States. The island platformed station was opened on December 5, 1981, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Glen Echo Park is an arts and cultural center in Glen Echo, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Located about northwest of the city's downtown area, the park's site was initially developed in 1891 as a National Chautauqua Assembly.
