They are currently ranked as the 13th best women's national team in the world by FIFA as of March 2025. Grindavík () is a fishing town in the Southern Peninsula (Iceland), Southern Peninsula district of Iceland, not far from Þorbjörn (mountain), Þorbjörn, a tuya (a type of flat-topped, steep-sided volcano).
