Telangana Legislative Assembly
The Telangana Legislative Assembly (ISO: ''Telangāṇa Śāsana Sabha'') is the lower house of the Telangana Legislature. The Legislative Assembly of Telangana currently consists of 119 elected members. The members of the ''Vidhana Sabha'' are directly elected by people through adult franchise. Each constituency elects one member of the assembly. Members are popularly known as M.L.A.s. The assembly is elected using the simple plurality or "first past the post" electoral system. The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India. History Telangana legislative assembly came into existence with 119 seats in June 2014 with the formation of Telangana. TRS swept the first election and formed the government with INC and TDP as opposition parties. In the 2018 elections, TRS won with a greater majority. Jatoth Ram Chander Naik (born 1975) is an Indian politician from Telangana state. He is an MLA from Dornakal which is reserved for ST community Mahabubabad district. He represents Indian National Congress Party and won the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly election. Early life and education Naik is from Dornakal in Mahabubabad district. He is a medical doctor. He completed his M.B.B.S. in 1998 and later did his M.S. (General) at Osmania Medical College in 2001. His wife is also a doctor. The Telangana Legislature is the state legislature of the Indian state of Telangana. It follows a Westminster-derived parliamentary system and is composed of an *Appointed Governor of Telangana *The indirectly-elected Telangana Shasana Mandali *The popularly-elected Telangana Shasana Sabha. Plurality voting refers to electoral systems in which the candidates in an electoral district who poll more than any other (that is, receive a plurality) are elected. 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly election was held on 2023 elections in India, 30 November 2023 to elect all List of constituencies of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, 119 members of Telangana Legislative Assembly for its third term.
