Teddington Studios
Teddington Studios was a large British television studio in Teddington, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, providing studio facilities for programmes airing on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky One and others. The complex also provided studio space for channel continuity. Towards the end of its history the site was run by the Pinewood Studios Group. Originally built as film studios, the studios were the main production centres for the ITV franchisees ABC Weekend TV and Thames Television. Pinewood Group's lease on Teddington Studios expired in 2014. The studios were demolished in February 2016 to be turned into housing, with programmes made there having moved to other facilities. The studio buildings will be replaced by three modern apartment blocks and other smaller houses, with the view towards the river from Broom Road opened up. Teddington is an affluent suburb of London in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. ''The Dark Tower'' is a 1943 British thriller film directed by John Harlow (director), John Harlow starring Ben Lyon, Anne Crawford, David Farrar (actor), David Farrar and Herbert Lom. The film marked Herbert Lom's first major film role. Plot Stephen Torg seeks work at a struggling travelling circus. Carlton Television
Carlton Television (now part of the non-franchised ITV London region) was the ITV franchise holder for London and the surrounding counties from 9.25am every Monday to 5.15pm every Friday. The company is now managed with London Weekend Television as a single entity ( ITV London), but the two companies are still separately licensed. The station is owned and operated by ITV plc under the licensee of "ITV Broadcasting Limited". Carlton has been branded on air as "ITV1" since 28 October 2002 ("ITV" between 14 January 2013 and 14 November 2022). Carlton Television Ltd, the original holder of the licence (renamed Carlton Broadcasting Limited on 1 February 1997), has since been dissolved. Euston Road
Euston Road is a road in Central London that runs from Marylebone Road to Kings Cross, London, King's Cross. The route is part of the London Inner Ring Road and forms part of the London congestion charge zone boundary. It is named after Euston Hall, the family seat of the Duke of Grafton, Dukes of Grafton, who had become major property owners in the area during the mid-19th century. The road was originally the central section of New Road, London, New Road from Paddington to Islington which opened in 1756 as London's first Bypass route, bypass. Ananda Max Salomon (January 15, 1891''U.S., World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918'' – 5 July 1944)''Reports of Deaths of American Citizens Abroad, 1835-1974'' was an American film director and studio manager at Teddington Studios. Salomon was born in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and moved to San Francisco when he was one year old. His father, Max Salomon, was born in Illinois and his mother, Wilhelmina "Minna" Welte Salomon, was German. He was a cousin of Jack L. Warner's first wife Irma Solomons (1916–1935), and became Warner's first employee, and eventually head of Warner's British operation. He was killed in a V-1 flying bomb attack at Warner Bros. Studios in Teddington, Staines, while recording the sound of the V-1s. Salomon was cremated and his ashes returned to San Francisco. He was survived by his wife, Joan Denise Salomon. Jack Lukeman (born Seán Loughman 11 February 1973), usually simply known as Jack L, is an Irish songwriter, musician, record producer, vocal artist and broadcaster. Early life Lukeman was born as Seán Loughman in St Vincent's Hospital, Athy; son of Seán Loughman, who was a mechanic, and his wife, Rose. Lukeman grew up in Bennetsbridge, near Athy, County Kildare. Lukeman attended a youth club in Athy known as Aontas Ogra at the age of 12 years old, where he was involved in artistic ventures as well as playing music there. He left school at 15. After spending a short period in the family business, he began playing music full-time at 18 cutting his teeth on the Bohemian busking scene around Europe in the early 90s. V-1 Flying Bomb
The V-1 flying bomb ( "Vengeance Weapon 1") was an early cruise missile. Its official Reich Aviation Ministry () name was Fieseler Fi 103 and its suggestive name was (hellhound). It was also known to the Allies as the buzz bomb or doodlebug and (maybug). The V-1 was the first of the (V-weapons) deployed for the terror bombing of London. It was developed at Peenemünde Army Research Center in 1939 by the at the beginning of the Second World War, and during initial development was known by the codename "Cherry Stone". Due to its limited range, the thousands of V-1 missiles launched into England were fired from V-1 flying bomb facilities, launch sites along the French (Pas-de-Calais) and Dutch coasts or by modified Heinkel He 111 aircraft.
