Team Cup (golf)
The Team Cup (previously known as the Hero Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a golf tournament between teams of professional male golfers; one team representing Great Britain and Ireland, the other team representing Continental Europe. The tournament was first played in 2023, but the competition is reminiscent of the Seve Trophy which was held eight times between 2000 and 2013. For the tournament's first iteration, a sponsorship deal was reached with the Indian two-wheeler manufacturers Hero MotoCorp. Members of the winning European team each earned US$125,000, with those on the losing GB&I team each receiving US$75,000. Schedule The event is an "approved special event" on the European Tour. The prize money does not count towards the Race to Dubai (previously the Order of Merit). The 2023 event was the first. Ewen Mackenzie Stewart Ferguson (born 6 July 1996) is a Scottish professional golfer. Paul Waring
Paul James Waring (born 2 February 1985) is an English professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Waring was born in Birkenhead. He had a successful amateur career which included winning the English Amateur in 2005. Professional career Waring turned professional in 2007 and had almost immediate success on the second-tier Challenge Tour when he lost out in a playoff to Felipe Aguilar at the Postbank Challenge in Germany. Aaron Rai
Aaron Rai (born 3 March 1995) is an English professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He has won twice on the European Tour; the 2018 Honma Hong Kong Open and the 2020 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, and once on the PGA Tour at the 2024 Wyndham Championship. Tom McKibbin (golfer)
Tom McKibbin (born 19 December 2002) is a Northern Irish professional golfer who currently plays on LIV Golf and the European Tour, where he has won once. He grew up playing golf at Greenisland Golf Club, Greenacres Golf Club and Holywood Golf Club, the same home club as Rory McIlroy.
