Tarık Ziya Ekinci
Tarık Ziya Ekinci (25 February 1925 – 15 August 2024) was a Kurdish politician and physician from Turkey. A member of the Workers' Party of Turkey, he served in the Grand National Assembly from 1965 to 1969. His brother Yusuf Ekinci was assassinated by Turkish deep state in 1994; his murder is still unsolved till this date. Turkish Women Writers
Turkish women writers refers to Turkish women contributors to Turkish literature. The area is parallel to Women's writing in English. Pioneers During the Ottoman era, there were only a few woman poets and novelists. Professor Nazan Bekiroğlu gives the priority to two woman poets; Zeynep Hatun and Mihri Hatun who lived in the 15th century. But probably the best known woman poet was Fitnat Hanım of the 18th century. The first Ottoman novelists were Zafer Hanım who was the first author of a novel published in 1877 and Fatma Aliye who is considered by many as the first Turkish female novelist. ( ''Hatun'' and ''Hanım'' are titles equivalent to "lady"). Fatma Aliye's sister Emine Semiye Önasya was also a novelist and textbook author. Lice, Turkey
Lice (; ; ; ) is a Districts of Turkey, district and town of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey. Its area is and population is 24,364 (2022). It is located 90 km from the capital, Diyarbakır, and the current kaymakam, governor of the town is Kerem Yenigün. The town is populated by Kurds. The district of Lice traces its roots all the way back to Mesopotamia and ancient Assyria, and its history is significantly diverse across multiple ethnic groups. Although originally having a population of Armenians and Assyrians, its current population is mainly Kurds in Turkey, Kurds. Lice's modern history is defined by its role in the Kurdish-Turkish conflict (1978-present), Kurdish-Turkish conflict, where in the village of Ziyaret, Lice, Fîs the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was founded. Yusuf Ekinci
Yusuf Ekinci (1942, in Diyarbakır – 25 February 1994, in Ankara) was a Kurdish politician in Turkey who was involved in the Susurluk scandal. Biography He was born in Lice to Kamil Ekinci. In June 1963 he was a student of the Faculty of Law at Ankara University and he was known as a socialist Kurdish nationalist in the school. He was among the members of the youth organization of the Workers Party of Turkey (TİP) which started its activities in Ankara in December 1963, and he worked as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper ''Emekçi'' (the Laborer), which was the publication of the Party. Following his graduation he went to Diyarbakır in April 1969 to do his compulsory practice, and he participated in the rally held here in protest to the draft bill of the Law to Protect the Constitution.
