Tant Strul
Tant Strul was a Swedish punk rock band that are considered as the leading all female punk rock band in Sweden, although they at times had a male member. The last setting before they split up was: vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Kajsa Grytt, keyboardist Malena Jönsson, bassist Liten Falkeholm, drummer Nike Markelius, and cellist Sebastian Öberg (from the Flesh Quartet). History The band started in 1981 with band members Kärsti Stiege (the mother of Swedish pop star Lykke Li), Liten Falkeholm, Kajsa Grytt, Malena Jönsson and Micke Westerlund. Kärsti left after the first two singles, and Micke left after the first LP "Tant Strul" (1981) and was replaced by Nike. The band now consisted of four women: Kajsa Grytt, Malena Jönsson, Liten Falkeholm and Nike Markelius. After the second LP "Amason" (1983), Sebastian Öberg joined the group. Kajsa Grytt
Karin Johanna (''Kajsa'') Grytt (born 20 June 1961) is a Swedish punk-rocker, guitarist, singer and songwriter. She was between 1979 and 1985 guitarist in the band Tant Strul and 1985 to 1988 and around 1996 a member of the duo Kajsa och Malena. Grytt wrote most of the lyrics to the band's songs. Grytt is nowadays a solo singer and made her musical comeback in 2003. She played along with David Giese during a few years, and then along with Jari Haapalainen, who also produced her two latest solo albums. She has so far made five solo albums and on her album ''Brott & straff'' several of the songs were written by female prisoners. On the same album Grytt did a duet with Joakim Thåström. In 2011, Kajsa Grytt released the album ''En kvinna under påverkan'' and the biography book ''Boken om mig själv'' (en:the book about myself). Flesh Quartet
Fleshquartet ( sv, Fläskkvartetten) is a Swedish band. Despite the band's name, Fläskkvartetten is in reality a quintet consisting of an electrical string quartet plus a percussionist. The band often collaborates with vocalists who comprise a veritable Who's Who of Swedish alternative music. The musical style ranges from classical string music to experimental rock. Three of the members, Örjan Högberg, Jonas Lindgren and Mattias Helldén, met at Royal College of Music in Stockholm in the 1970s. They were joined by Sebastian Öberg and Johan Söderberg before the band released their first album. Fläskkvartetten won a Grammis award for the best instrumental album for Goodbye Sweden in 1990 and another Grammis for best album with their 1993 album "Flow". They received the Spelmannen award from Expressen in 2002. Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson (born 18 March 1986), known as Lykke Li (), is a Swedish singer. Her music often blends elements of indie pop, dream pop and electronic. Pink Champagne (first named Kasern 9) was a Swedish feminist punk band in the 1980s. It consisted of four women, Stina Berge (drums), Ann Carlberger (vocals), Karin Jansson (guitar) and Gunilla Welin (bass). Kajsa Grytt was briefly a member. They released two full-length albums, ''Vackra pojke!'' (''Beautiful Boy!'', 1981) and ''Kärlek eller ingenting'' (''Love or Nothing'', 1983), before breaking up in 1984. Karin Jansson and Ann Carlberger went to Australia in 1987. Jansson dated and became the domestic partner of Steve Kilbey of The Church and co-wrote their hit song " Under the Milky Way". With Kilbey, she became mother to twin daughters Elektra and Miranda (born 1991 in Sydney) who now perform as Say Lou Lou. Jansson and Kilbey also formed the band Curious (Yellow) on Red Eye Records. Eldkvarn is a Swedish rock band formed in Norrköping in 1971. The group, whose best-known line-up comprises Plura Jonsson, Carla Jonsson and Tony Thorén, as well as other artists, are regarded as one of the best rock bands in Sweden, with a following in other Nordic countries as well.
