Tank
A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle intended as a primary offensive weapon in front-line ground combat. Tank designs are a balance of heavy firepower, strong armour, and battlefield mobility provided by tracks and a powerful engine; their main armament is often mounted within a turret. They are a mainstay of modern 20th and 21st century ground forces and a key part of combined arms combat. Aerial refueling ( en-us), or aerial refuelling ( en-gb), also referred to as air refueling, in-flight refueling (IFR), air-to-air refueling (AAR), and tanking, is the process of transferring aviation fuel from one aircraft (the tanker) to another (the receiver) while both aircraft are in flight. The two main refueling systems are '' probe-and-drogue'', which is simpler to adapt to existing aircraft and the '' flying boom'', which offers faster fuel transfer, but requires a dedicated boom operator station. The procedure allows the receiving aircraft to remain airborne longer, extending its range or loiter time. ''Indestructible'' () is a 2018 Russian war film directed by Konstantin Maksimov. It was developed under the working title ''Tankers'' (). The film is based on the real story of the feat of the crew of a Soviet KV-1 tank under the command of Semyon Konovalov, which took part in an unequal battle on 13th July 1942, and destroyed 16 tanks, two armored vehicles and eight other vehicles from enemy forces in the area of the village of , Tarasovsky District, Rostov Oblast. On 9 September 2018, a special private screening of the film for military personnel of the Tamanskaya and Kantemirov Divisions took place; the event took place on Tanker's Day. ''Tinker and Tanker'' is a children's book series written and illustrated by Richard Scarry, and published in the U.S. by Doubleday from 1960 to 1963. Overview The title characters live in a place called Tootletown. Upon the first book's release in 1960, Doubleday described both of them as "Tinker, the quick-witted rabbit, and Tanker, the strong, steady hippopotamus." Bailter Space (a.k.a. Bailterspace) is a New Zealand shoegaze and noise rock band that formed in Christchurch in 1987 as Nelsh Bailter Space; they had previously recorded as the Gordons.
