Tamnava
The Tamnava ( sr-Cyrl, Тамнава) is a river in western Serbia. It is a -long left tributary of the Kolubara River and also gives the name to the surrounding region of Tamnava. Origin The Tamnava originates from several small streams from the hill of ''Konjsko brdo'' (Cyrillic: ''Коњско брдо''; ''Horse hill'') on the northern slopes of Vlašić mountain, northwest of the town of Valjevo, less than a kilometer away from the source of its major tributary, the Ub River. The Tamnava passes next to the village of Miličinica, makes sharp turn to the northwest along the Vlašić mountain, passes the village of Donje Crniljevo and makes another sharp, elbow turn to the east around the Braznik hill (Cyrillic: ''Бразник''), near the Gradojević village. Ub River
The Ub (Serbian Cyrillic: Уб) is a river in western Serbia, a 57 km-long right and longest tributary to Tamnava river. Characteristics The Ub originates from the Vlašić mountain in Podgorina region of west Serbia, near the village of Kasapo. From its source to the mouth, the river flows to the east, parallel to the river Tamnava, which it will eventually join. The villages located in the upper section of the river's flow are Družetić, Pambukovica and Čučuge, where the Ub slightly turns to the north, passes through the villages of Tvrdojevac and Zvizdar, and the small town of Ub, named after the river. Kolubara River
The Kolubara ( sr-cyr, Колубара, ) is a long river in western Serbia; it is an eastern, right tributary to the Sava river. Due to the many long tributaries creating a branchy system within the river's drainage basin, the short Kolubara drains relatively large area of . It is part of the larger Black Sea drainage. The river is not navigable, but its valley is very important for transportation. Here are located Belgrade-Valjevo road, parts of Belgrade-Šabac road, Ibarska magistrala (Highway of Ibar) and the Belgrade-Bar railway. The Kolubara was the site of one of the major battles on the Balkans in the World War I, the Battle of Kolubara in 1914. Novaci (Ub)
Novaci (; ) is a village in the municipality of Ub (Serbia), Ub, Kolubara District, Western Serbia. Total number of inhabitants is 711 (census 2011). The most important site in the village is the Church of the Nativity of The Most Holy Theotokos, Novaci, Church of the Nativity of The Most Holy Theotokos, built in 1857. History The first written record of name of the village Novaci was in 1827 in Vuk Kardzic's "Danica". In 1844 there was a Primary court, elementary school and church. The first teacher in school was in 1842. The new church was built in 1857. Also, Novaci was a centre of Novaci municipality which includes the villages of Tulari(Ub), Tulari and Zukve. The Black Sea is a marginal sea, marginal Mediterranean sea (oceanography), mediterranean sea lying between Europe and Asia, east of the Balkans, south of the East European Plain, west of the Caucasus, and north of Anatolia. Pannonian Sea
The Pannonian Sea was a shallow ancient sea, where the Pannonian Basin in Central Europe is now. During its history it lost its connections with the neighbouring seas and became a lake. The Pannonian Sea existed from about 10 Ma (million years ago) until 1 Ma, during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs, when marine sediments were deposited to a depth of in the Pannonian Basin. History The Pannonian Sea, for most of its history, was part of the Paratethys Sea, until about 10 million years ago, when a Miocene uplift of the Carpathian Mountains isolated the sea from the rest of Paratethys. Pannonian Plain
The Pannonian Basin, with the term Carpathian Basin being sometimes preferred in Hungarian literature, is a large sedimentary basin situated in southeastern Central Europe. After the Treaty of Trianon following World War I, the geomorphological term Pannonian Plain was also used for roughly the same region, referring to the lowlands in the area occupied by the Pannonian Sea during the Pliocene Epoch, however some consider the term "Pannonian Plain" not only unhistorical but also topologically erroneous. Terminology The term Pannonian Plain refers to the lowland parts of the Pannonian Basin as well as those of some adjoining regions like Lower Austria, Moravia, and Silesia (Czech Republic and Poland). Obrenovac
Obrenovac ( sr-cyr, Обреновац, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2022 census results, the municipality has a population of 68,882 inhabitants, while the urban area has 25,380 inhabitants. The old name for Obrenovac was Palež. The largest Serbian thermal power plant TPP Nikola Tesla is located on the outskirts of the municipality.
