Tadeusz Kopeć
Tadeusz Wiktor Kopeć (born 24 August 1960 in Pierściec, Cieszyn Silesia) is a Polish politician. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 6,206 votes in 27 Bielsko-Biała district as a candidate from the Civic Platform list. In 2011 he won his race for senator in the number 79 Senate constituency, with 48,948 votes. On 22 May 2015 he resigned from membership in the Civic Platform and associated himself with Poland Together. In the same year he won reelection to the Senate (this time starting from the list of Law and Justice) with 58,482 votes. In 2019 This was the year in which the first known human case of COVID-19 was documented, preceding COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic which was declared by the World Health Organization the following year. 2019 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 13 October 2019. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate of Poland, Senate were elected. The ruling right-wing Law and Justice (Poland), Law and Justice (PiS) won re-election to a second term retaining its majority in the Sejm. However, it lost its majority in the Senate to the opposition. With 43.6% of the popular vote, Law and Justice received the highest vote share by any party since Poland returned to democracy in 1989. The turnout was the highest for a parliamentary election since the first 1989 Polish parliamentary election, free elections after the Revolutions of 1989, fall of communism in 1989. Law and Justice ( , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. The party is a member of European Conservatives and Reformists Group. Its chairman has been Jarosław Kaczyński since 18 January 2003. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). It won the 2005 parliamentary and presidential elections, after which Lech became the president of Poland. It headed a parliamentary coalition with the League of Polish Families and Self-Defence of the Republic of Poland between 2005 and the 2007 election. The Agreement (), formally known as Jarosław Gowin's Agreement (), is a centre-right political party in Poland.
