TVS (São Tomé And Príncipe)
TVS (abbreviation of Televisão Santomense, English: ''Santomean TV'') is the public television broadcaster of São Tomé and Príncipe. About the station São Tomé and Príncipe's first television broadcasts were conducted by means of an educational television system approved on September 24, 1970, under the name Telescola (same name as the system deployed by RTP), approved by Legislative Diploma nº. 822. By initiative of Albertino Bragança, Fernando Paquete and Faustino de Carvalho, a television experiment using the pre-existing educational television equipment and staff from the national radio broadcaster was made with the aim of covering the 1982 FIFA World Cup. On July 15, 1982, after the success of the initial experiment, Televisão Experimental de São Tomé e Príncipe went live. The station was financed and built by Portuguese engineers. Carlos Manuel Vila Nova (born 27 July 1959) is a São Toméan politician who is the fifth and current president of São Tomé and Príncipe, since 2 October 2021. He served as the minister of Public Works and Natural Resources (2010–2012) and minister of Infrastructure, Natural Resources and the Environment (2014–2018) in successive governments of Prime Minister Patrice Trovoada. The São Tomé and Príncipe Super Cup ( Portuguese: ''Super Taça de São Tomé e Príncipe'') is a Super Cup competition played during the season in São Tomé and Príncipe. The competition is governed by the São Toméan Football Federation (FSF). The competition is also known for recent seasons as the António Aguiar National Super Cup (''Supertaça Nacional Antònio Aguiar''). The first super cup competition began in 1996.The regional champion competes with the cup winner. Sometimes, if a champion also has a cup title, a cup club who is runner-up qualifies. It is the only super cup competition in the country as there are no regional super cup competitions. São Tomé and Príncipe Championship (Portuguese: ''Campeonato Nacional'') is the top division of the São Toméan Football Federation. In the 2021/22 season there were 18 teams participating in two leagues – 12 teams from São Tomé Island, whose league has two relegation places, alongside 6 teams from Príncipe Island, which operates as a single division with no relegation. The championship is decided in a match between the São Tomé Island champions and the Príncipe Island champions.
