TVR2
TVR 2 (, spelled out as ''Televiziunea Română 2'', "Romanian Television 2") is the second channel of the public broadcaster TVR. The channel was launched on 2 May 1968, but it was suspended from 20 January 1985, until 19 February 1990. From 2003, it has been a market leader in Romania with some very well thought television shows, such as ''Tonomatul DP2'' and the British television series ''Doctor Who'', but since 2015, it has been a general arts and culture channel. TVR 2 launched an HD simulcast on 3 November 2019, alongside the Romanian Television's flagship channel, TVR 1. History It started broadcasting on 2 May 1968 under the name Programul 2. Initially it broadcast once a week, every Thursday, but from June 16 the same year it started broadcasting on Sundays, and next month, from 20 July, on Saturdays. Romanian Television
Televiziunea Română (), more commonly referred to as TVR , is the short name for Societatea Română de Televiziune ("Romanian Television Society"; SRTV), the Romanian public television. It operates nine channels: TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR 3, TVR Cultural, TVR Folclor, TVR Info, TVRi, TVR Moldova and TVR Sport along with six regional studios in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Craiova, and Târgu Mureș. TVR 1 has a total national coverage of 99.8%, virtually the entire Romanian population, and TVR 2 has 91% national coverage. All of the other channels and networks solely broadcast in major population centers. Even though it does not have the largest audience, due to the dominance of the five private TV networks (which consistently get higher ratings in the urban market segment), it offers a wider variety of services, including webcasts and international viewing via TVRi. Jurnalul TVR
Telejurnalul is the main news program of the Romanian public television network TVR, broadcast daily on TVR1, TVRi at 14:00, 20:00 and on TVR2 (with a re-broadcast of the 12:00 show at 19:00). It broadcasts at different hours on TVR1 and TVR2, if sporting events that the two channels broadcast interfere with their usual TV schedules. Between 2015 and 2016, two ident changes occurred. On 14 September 2015, on the 20:00 edition, Telejurnal unveiled its new logo, graphics, and tickerbar which shows every top story. And in October 2016, it adopted a freshly, redesigned blue-red-white graphics package. On 3 November 2019, Telejurnal launched a new look at the same time when the HD simulcasts of TVR 1 and TVR 2 were launched. Digital terrestrial television (DTTV, DTT, or DTTB) is a technology for terrestrial television, in which television stations broadcast television content in a digital signal, digital format.
