TNA Lockdown (2016)
The 2016 Lockdown (also known as ''Impact Wrestling: Lockdown'') was a professional wrestling television special produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which took place on January 30, 2016 at the Wembley Arena in London, England as part of the TNA Maximum Impact 8 Tour in January 2016. It was the twelfth event under the Impact Wrestling Lockdown, Lockdown chronology. Like the Lockdown (2015), previous year's event, the 2016 edition of Lockdown was not held on pay-per-view (PPV) and instead, was featured as a special edition of TNA's weekly broadcast of ''Impact! (TV series), Impact Wrestling'' on Pop (American TV channel), Pop on February 23, 2016. Five mock combat, professional wrestling matches were contested at the event and all the events were contested inside a steel cage in the six-sided ring, dubbed the "Six Sides of Steel matches" while a Lethal Lockdown match was also featured at the event as per the theme of Lockdown events. A Lethal Lockdown match is a professional wrestling match used in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). This match has become a staple of TNA's Lockdown pay-per-view event, but has also made appearances at other TNA pay-per-views, and during ''Impact!'' TV broadcasts. Match format The match consists of a single ring enclosed by a steel cage with two teams facing off with each other. The TNA X Division Championship is a men's professional wrestling championship created and promoted by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). It debuted on June 19, 2002, at the taping of TNA's second then- weekly pay-per-view (PPV) event. The current champion is Moose, who is in his first reign. The championship is contested in TNA's X Division, which emphasizes fast-paced, acrobatic wrestling, traditionally featuring cruiserweight wrestlers. However, heavyweights including Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, and Abyss have also won the championship at various times in the division's history. There have been 109 reigns among 54 wrestlers.
