TCG Alemdar
TCG ''Alemdar'' (A-582) is an ''Alemdar''-class submarine rescue mother ship (MOSHIP) of the Turkish Navy. Ordered on October 28, 2011 and built by Istanbul Shipyard, she was launched on April 29, 2014. She is designed to perform subsea and surface search and rescue missions under various sea conditions. Her main task is to rescue submarines that can not resurface by their own efforts. She is able to provide life support to the stranded crew of a distressed submarine at a maximum depth of . The Turkish Naval Forces (), or Turkish Navy (), is the naval warfare service branch of the TAF. An atmospheric diving suit (ADS), or single atmosphere diving suit is a small one-person articulated submersible which resembles a suit of armour, with elaborate pressure joints to allow articulation while maintaining an internal pressure of one atmosphere. An ADS can enable diving at depths of up to for many hours by eliminating the majority of significant physiological dangers associated with deep diving. The occupant of an ADS does not need to decompress, and there is no need for special breathing gas mixtures, so there is little danger of decompression sickness or nitrogen narcosis when the ADS is functioning properly. Underwater Search And Rescue Group Command (Turkey)
The Underwater Search and Rescue Group Command is affiliated with the Turkish Naval Forces. Its duties are to carry out underwater training of the Naval Forces Command and other units, to train 1st class divers and underwater defense personnel, and to participate in search and rescue activities at times of war and peace. In 2017, the TCG Alemdar was put into service and the capabilities of the unit were upgraded. Search and rescue activities can be carried out up to a depth of 600 meters. With the Atmospheric Diving System, divers, who can go as far down as 365 meters, can provide life packages and air support to submarines.
