TAK, Türk Ajansı Kıbrıs (in English, Turkish News Agency-Cyprus) is the news agency in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus responsible for disseminating TRNC news internationally and disseminating foreign news in the TRNC. History and Evolution TAK was established on December 21, 1973, by journalist Mr. Said Arif Terzioğlu. Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation ( tr, Bayrak Radyo Televizyon Kurumu; BRT), is the official radio and television broadcasting corporation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. History The establishment of BRT dates back to the events of December 1963 when intercommunal violence between the Greek and Turkish communities effectively ended the cooperative Republic of Cyprus splitting the island into two as north and south. Turkish Radio And Television Corporation
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT; Turkish : ) is the national public broadcaster of Turkey, founded in 1964. TRT was for many years the only television and radio provider in Turkey. Before the introduction of commercial radio in 1990, and subsequently commercial television in 1992, it held a monopoly on broadcasting. More recent deregulation of the Turkish television broadcasting market produced analogue cable television. Today, TRT broadcasts around the world, especially in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Around 70% of TRT's funding comes from a tax levied on electricity bills and a license tax on television and radio receivers.
