Suzy (film)
''Suzy'' is a 1936 American drama film directed by George Fitzmaurice and starring Jean Harlow, Franchot Tone and Cary Grant. The film was partially written by Dorothy Parker, based on a novel by Herbert Gorman. The Academy Award-nominated theme for ''Suzy'', "Did I Remember?", was sung by Virginia Verrill (uncredited). Plot In 1914, American showgirl Suzanne Trent (Jean Harlow) is in London, hoping to meet and marry a man with money. She tells her friend Maisie (Inez Courtney) she can charm any man she chooses into marrying her, and then learn to love him. She sets her sights on Terry Moore (Franchot Tone), an Irishman she sees in a borrowed Rolls-Royce. She soon learns he is not wealthy, but he has a respectable job and good prospects, being an engineer, inventor, and pilot. They quickly fall in love and marry. Suzy Records ( hr, Suzy produkcija gramofonskih ploča) is a record label based in Zagreb, Croatia. History The company was established in the then Socialist Republic of Croatia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1972 in music, 1972. After the abandonment of the socialist system and the subsequent breakup of Yugoslavia, during the 1990s the company transformed to SUZY d.o.o. (limited company). However, unlike its bigger competitors Jugoton and PGP-RTB which changed their names to Croatia Records and PGP-RTS respectively, Suzy continued to work under the same name. Several of its older important domestic titles were re-released in cooperation with another Croatian record label Hit Records during the 2000s. Susana Guerra (born 24 January 1980), known professionally as Suzy Guerra and formerly Suzy, is a Portuguese singer and former flight attendant. She represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark with the song " Quero ser tua". Early life Suzy was born in Figueira da Foz. From very early on she has shown great pleasure in singing, appearing for the first time on stage at only 5 years of age, at the Cineteatro Caras Direitas in Buarcos, a small village in the centre of Portugal. Aileen Mehle (née Elder, June 10, 1918 – November 11, 2016), known by the pen name Suzy or Suzy Knickerbocker, was an American society columnist, active in journalism for over fifty years. Her column was syndicated to 100 newspapers and read by over 30 million people. Early life Mehle was born on June 10, 1918, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Aileen (O'Keefe) and Lawrence Herman Elder, an oil company employee. Mehle moved with her family to California when she was a child. She attended Long Beach Junior College and Santa Barbara State College (now the University of California, Santa Barbara).
