Sultan Mosque
Sultan Mosque or Masjid Sultan is a mosque located at Muscat Street and North Bridge Road within the Kampong Glam precinct of the district of Rochor in Singapore. It was named after Sultan Hussain Shah. In 1975, it was designated a national monument. Opening The mosque was two-thirds complete and was formally opened on 27 December 1929. The mosque was fully completed in 1932. The Sultan Mosque has stayed essentially unchanged since it was built, with only repairs carried out to the main hall in 1968 and an annex added in 1993. It was gazetted as a national monument on 8 March 1975. The mosque is currently managed by its own Board of Trustees and Management Board. Transportation The mosque is accessible from Bugis MRT station and Jalan Besar MRT Station Station. Bugis MRT Station
Bugis MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the East West line and Downtown line in Bugis, Singapore. Located under the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street, the station is close to Bugis Junction, Raffles Hospital and the National Library. Built as part of the initial MRT system, the station opened in November 1989 as part of the MRT network's eastern line, while the station's Downtown line platforms were opened in December 2013. Jalan Besar MRT Station
Jalan Besar MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line in Rochor, Singapore. The station is located under Jalan Besar, at the junction with Weld Road, hence its name. The station was first announced as Sungei Road MRT station in August 2010. Sunni Islam () is the largest branch of Islam, followed by 85–90% of the world's Muslims. Its name comes from the word '' Sunnah'', referring to the tradition of Muhammad.
