Stuart Graham (actor)
Stuart Graham (born 31 August 1967) is a Northern Irish film, television, and stage actor, born and brought up in Northern Ireland. Life Born in Belfast and educated at the University of Ulster, where he took a degree in media studies, Graham trained for an acting career at a drama school in London. In 1990 he played a minor part in a revival of '' Berenice'' at the Cottesloe Theatre, Lambeth, and in 1991 appeared at the Dublin Theatre Festival in a production of ''Michael Collins Big Fella!'' by the Praxis Theatre Laboratory of Greenwich, playing the part of Eoin O'Duffy. Most of Graham's stage work has been in Dublin and Belfast, while in film and television he has worked in both Irish and British productions, specializing in playing Irishmen. However, his leading roles have included the part of the Englishman Howard Carter in ''Egypt'' (2005). A première, also spelled premiere, is the debut (first public presentation) of a play, film, dance, or musical composition. A work will often have many premières: a world première (the first time it is shown anywhere in the world), its first presentation in each country, and an online première (the first time it is published on the Internet). The Whistleblower
''The Whistleblower'' is a 2010 biographical drama film directed by Larysa Kondracki and starring Rachel Weisz. Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan wrote the screenplay, which was inspired by the story of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska police officer who was recruited as a United Nations peacekeeper for DynCorp International in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999. While there, she discovered a Bosnian sex trafficking ring serving and facilitated by DynCorp employees, with international peacekeepers looking the other way. Bolkovac was fired and forced out of the country after attempting to shut down the ring. She took the story to BBC News in the UK and won a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against DynCorp. ''Hunger'' is a 2008 historical drama film about the 1981 Irish hunger strike. It was directed by Steve McQueen (in his feature directorial debut) and starred Michael Fassbender, Liam Cunningham, and Liam McMahon. It premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, winning the prestigious Caméra d'Or award for first-time filmmakers. It went on to win the Sydney Film Prize at the Sydney Film Festival, the Grand Prix of the Belgian Syndicate of Cinema Critics, best picture from the Evening Standard British Film Awards, and received two BAFTA nominations, winning one. Omagh (film)
''Omagh'' is a 2004 film dramatising the events surrounding the Omagh bombing and its aftermath, co-produced by Irish state broadcaster RTÉ and UK network Channel 4, and directed by Pete Travis. It was first shown on television in both countries in May, 2004. Michael Gallagher, whose son Aiden (Paul Kelly) was killed in the bombing, is played by Gerard McSorley, originally from Omagh. Out of respect for the residents of the town, it was filmed on location in Navan, County Meath, Republic of Ireland. The film ends with the Julie Miller song ''Broken Things'', which was performed by local singer Juliet Turner at the memorial for the victims of the Omagh bombing. Reception Rotten Tomatoes reported that 88% of critics gave the film positive reviews, with an average score of 7.2/10, however this is based upon a sample of only 8 reviews. Gielgud Theatre
The Gielgud Theatre is a West End theatre, located on Shaftesbury Avenue, at the corner of Rupert Street, in the City of Westminster, London. The house currently has 986 seats on three levels. The theatre was designed by W. G. R. Sprague and opened on 27 December 1906 as the Hicks Theatre, named after Seymour Hicks, for whom it was built.
