Stig Svante Eugén Bergling, later Stig Svante ''Eugén'' Sandberg and ''Stig'' Svante Eugén Sydholt, (1 March 1937 – 24 January 2015) was a Swedish Security Service officer who spied for the Soviet Union. The Stig Bergling-affair, one of Sweden's greatest spy scandals, began when he was arrested in Israel in 1979 by Israeli counterintelligence and in the same year in Sweden was sentenced to life imprisonment for aggravated espionage. He fled to Moscow, however, during a conjugal visit in 1987 he managed to escape with the assistance of his then wife Elisabeth Sjögren. Bergling's escape was a major embarrassment for Sweden's liberal prison system and prompted the resignation of the justice minister. Bergling lived for several years in the Soviet Union, Hungary and Lebanon until, for health reasons, he voluntarily returned to Sweden in 1994. Stig Roar Husby (born 12 September 1954 in Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag) is a retired Norwegian long-distance runner. He represented Strindheim IL and IL i BUL. In 3000 metres he finished fourth at the 1973 European Junior Championships and eighth at the 1985 European Indoor Championships. He finished tenth in marathon at the 1983 World Championships but did not finish at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He became Norwegian champion in 5000 metres in 1983 and 1985 and in 10,000 metres in 1975, 1979, 1980 and 1983. He has his education from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. Stig Lennart Blomqvist (born 29 July 1946) is a retired Swedish rally driver. He made his international breakthrough in 1971. Driving an Audi Quattro for the Audi factory team, Blomqvist won the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1984 and finished runner-up in 1985. He won his home event, the Swedish Rally, seven times. Outside the WRC, he won the British Rally Championship in 1983 and the Swedish Rally Championship several times. Stig Johansen (born 13 June 1972 in Kabelvåg, Lofoten) is a former Norwegian football striker. He made his debut for Bodø/Glimt in 1993 and played 70 games before he was signed by English Premiership side Southampton, in 1997.
