Stephen Sandstrom
Stephen Eric Sandstrom (born 1964) is a licensed architect, a former politician and was a member of the Utah House of Representatives from 2007 through 2012. Prior to serving in the Utah Legislature, he was a member of the Orem City Council from 1994 through 2006. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Brigham Young University, but has largely worked in architecture and is a 4th generation architect. Early life Sandstorm spent his childhood in a politically active home. As a boy Stephen once rode his bicycle into Provo, where he came across campaign literature and decided to help distribute this literature. A short time later, he was awarded the Boy Scouts of America's Eagle scout award. As a young man he heard a POW speak, which influenced his desire to join the military. Spencer Cox (politician)
Spencer James Cox (born July 11, 1975) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 18th governor of Utah since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the eighth lieutenant governor of Utah from 2013 to 2021. Cox was raised and lives in Fairview, Utah. He was elected to the city council in 2004 and mayorship the next year. After overseeing rural economic development in Fairview, Cox was elected a county commissioner for Sanpete County in 2008. He was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2012. In October 2013, Governor Gary Herbert selected Cox to replace Greg Bell as lieutenant governor; he was confirmed unanimously by the Utah State Senate. The Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act (introduced as Arizona Senate Bill 1070 and commonly referred to as Arizona SB 1070) is a 2010 legislative Act in the U.S. state of Arizona that was the broadest and strictest anti- illegal immigration law in the United States when passed. Utah's 4th Congressional District
Utah's 4th congressional district is a congressional district created by the state legislature as a result of reapportionment by Congress after the 2010 Census showed population increases in the state relative to other states. Prior to 2010 reapportionment, Utah had three congressional districts. Some 85 percent of the new district is concentrated in Salt Lake County and it includes a portion of Salt Lake City, which is shared with the 2nd and 3rd districts; it also includes parts of Utah, Juab, and Sanpete counties. Candidates first appeared on the 2012 ballot. DREAM Act
The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, known as the DREAM Act, is a United States legislative proposal to grant temporary conditional residency, with the right to work, to illegal immigrants who entered the United States as minors—and, if they later satisfy further qualifications, they would attain permanent residency.
