The 2020 Libertarian Party presidential primaries and caucuses were a series of electoral contests to indicate non-binding preferences for the Libertarian Party (United States), Libertarian Party's presidential candidate in the 2020 United States presidential election. These differ from the Republican Party (United States), Republican or Democratic Party (United States), Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses in that they do not appoint delegates to represent a candidate at the party's convention to select the party's presidential nominee. The party's nominee was subsequently chosen directly by registered delegates at the 2020 Libertarian National Convention, held through an online convention from May 22 to May 24. Jacob George Hornberger (born January 1, 1950) is an American Attorneys in the United States, attorney, author, and politician who was a Libertarian Party (United States), Libertarian candidate for president in 2000 Libertarian National Convention, 2000 and 2020 Libertarian Party presidential primaries, 2020. He is the founder and president of the Future of Freedom Foundation. Early life Hornberger grew up on a farm on the Rio Grande near Laredo, Texas. He was born to a German-American father and a Mexican-American mother. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Virginia Military Institute, and a Juris Doctor, J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Professional career Hornberger was an attorney in the state of Texas for twelve years. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas, teaching economics and law.
