André Sollie (born 7 July 1947) is a Belgian author and illustrator of children's literature. Career Sollie made his debut in children's poetry with ''Soms, dan heb ik flink de pest in'' in 1986. In 2000, Sollie and Ingrid Godon published the children's book ''Wachten op Matroos''. They both won the Gouden Griffel award a year later for this book. The English translation of the book '' Hello, Sailor'' was published in 2003. The book is about a lighthouse keeper called Matt and his friend, Sailor, whom he deeply misses. The book caused controversy in England as it was argued that its inclusion in school curricula effectively forced schools to include books with homosexual characters.M. Gordon Solie (born Francis Jonard Labiak, later Jonard Pierre Sjoblom, January 26, 1929July 27, 2000), was an American Florida-based professional wrestling play-by-play announcer working for Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida, USA Championship Wrestling, Continental Championship Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling. Hans Johan Sollie (13 June 1885 – 12 February 1973) was a Norwegian bookseller and member of parliament for the Conservative Party. Biography He was born in Aalesund in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. He was a son of headmaster Paul Sollie (1852–1919) and Dorothea Torgersen (1860–1949). He was a nephew of politician Harald Bredo Sollie. He finished his secondary education in Fredrikshald in 1903, and set out to be a bookseller. He worked in H. Aschehoug & Co's outlet from 1903 to 1905, in Gudbrandsdalens Bokhandel briefly in 1905 and for Erik Qvist from 1905 to 1908. In 1908 he started his own book shop in Horten. He also wrote for newspapers such as ''Verdens Gang''. Harald Bredo Sollie (17 January 1871 – 1 March 1947) was a Norwegian jurist, naval officer and politician for the Conservative Party. Family Sollie was born in Horten to Hans Paulsen Sollie (1816–1900) and Bredine Andrea Løes (1833–1919). He had one daughter, Bergljot Sollie (1903–1994), with Marie Louise Nygaard (1875–1945). Bergljot Sollie married naval officer Thore Horve in 1927. Sollie was also the uncle of politician Hans Johan Sollie. Education Sollie finished his secondary education in 1891. Jean-Pierre Solié (also Soulier, Solier, Sollié; 1755 in Nîmes – 6 August 1812 in Paris) was a French cellist and operatic singer. Karen Solie (born 1966) is a Canadian poet. Born in Moose Jaw, Solie grew up on the family farm in southwest Saskatchewan. Sollie Herman "Jew" Cohen (September 6, 1907 – April 1, 1966) was a college football player and later a businessman of Lake Providence, Louisiana. Early years Cohen's parents were Jews from Russia. He was from Delta City, Mississippi and attended Rolling Fork High School. Ole Miss Cohen was a prominent fullback on the Ole Miss Rebels football team. Cohen was named to the Mississippi All-Time Team by football historian Dr. L.H. Baker. He remained a prominent booster for the Ole Miss program long after his time at the school.
