The Ministry of Welfare is a part of the Icelandic Government. Ásmundur Einar Daðason
Ásmundur Einar Daðason (born 29 October 1982) is an Icelandic politician. He was a member of the Althing for the Northwest Constituency from 2009 to 2016 – first for the Left-Green Movement (VG), later for the centrist Progressive Party. He returned to the Althing in 2017. He has also been the leader of the organisation Heimssýn, which gathers Iceland's EU opponents. On November 30, 2017, he became Minister of Social Affairs and Equality. On November 28, 2021, he became Minister of Education and Children. The Left-Green Movement ( is, Vinstrihreyfingin – grænt framboð), officially the Left Movement – Green Candidature and also known by its short-form name ''Vinstri græn'' (VG), is an eco-socialist political party in Iceland. Óttarr Olaf Proppé (born 7 November 1968) is a former Icelandic politician. He is a musician, actor, former Reykjavík City Councilor (Best Party 2010-2014) and former Member of Parliament ( Bright Future 2013-2017). Óttarr was elected chairman of the party in 2015. He was a member of the rock band HAM in the years 1988–1994, as well as being the lead singer of the rock-cabaret band Dr. Spock. The Independence Party ( is, Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) is a Liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative List of political parties in Iceland, political party in Iceland. It is currently the largest party in the Althing, Alþingi, with 17 seats.
