Slavko Avsenik
Slavko Avsenik (November 26, 1929 – July 2, 2015) was a Slovene composer and musician. Beginning in 1953 with the formation of the Avsenik Brothers Ensemble, Avsenik produced more than 1,000 songs and garnered success both in Slovenia and in other parts of Europe and America, and is viewed as a Slovenian cultural icon. Biography Over forty years, the Avsenik Ensemble's original " Oberkrainer" sound became the primary vehicle of ethnic musical expression for Slovenia, Austria (Germany) Switzerland, northern Italy and the Benelux countries, spawning hundreds of Alpine orchestras in the process. Slavko Kalezić ( cnr, Славко Калезић, ; born 4 October 1985) is a Montenegrin actor, singer and songwriter. He took part in '' X Factor Adria'' but failed to make it to the live shows. He represented Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Space". In 2017, he took part in the fourteenth series of ''The X Factor UK'', where he was eliminated from the competition at judges' houses. Slavko Goluža (born 17 September 1971) is a retired Croatian handball player and current coach of RK Zagreb. Club career Goluža was born in the village of Pješivac-Kula near Stolac. He began his career with RK Mehanika Metković. At the age of 18, he moved to RK Zagreb-Chromos, with which he won two consecutive European Cups in 1992 and 1993. He won the EHF Cup with RK Metković Jambo in 2000 and the year later the club reached the final again. Slavoljub "Slavko" Vorkapić ( sr-Cyrl, Славољуб "Славко" Воркапић; March 17, 1894 – October 20, 1976), known in English as Slavko Vorkapich, was a Serbian-born Hollywood montagist, an independent cinematic artist, chair of USC School of Cinematic Arts, chair of the Belgrade Film and Theatre Academy, painter, and illustrator. Slavko Kvaternik
Slavko Kvaternik (25 August 1878 – 7 June 1947) was a Croatian Ustaše military general and politician who was one of the founders of the Ustaše movement. Kvaternik was military commander and Minister of '' Domobranstvo'' (''Armed Forces''). On 10 April 1941, he declared the creation of the Independent State of Croatia. Kvaternik was an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army and was involved in World War I. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary, he was appointed by the National Council of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs to lead a successful incursion into Međimurje in late 1918. He later transferred to the Royal Yugoslav Army and remained there until 1921. In 1929, he was one of the founders of the Ustasha – Croatian Revolutionary Movement in Italy. Slavko Labović (born 17 November 1962, Kolašin, PR Montenegro, FPR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian-Danish actor most popular for the role as a Serbian gangster in the '' Pusher trilogy''. Labović was born to Serbian Orthodox parents in Kolašin; he and his mother left their village, to join his father in Denmark. He came to Ballerup, Denmark as a four-year-old, together with his siblings. He made his film debut in 1996, as a gangster in '' Pusher'', which boosted his career in Danish cinema. Slavko Brill
Slavko Brill (27 December 1900 – January 1943) was a Croatian-Jewish sculptor and ceramics artist born in Nova Gradiška. He graduated in 1926 at Art Academy in Zagreb. His artistic works included portraits, busts, and cemetery monuments. After the establishment of the Independent State of Croatia, Brill converted to Catholicism. He was arrested by the Ustaše in July 1941, and then quickly released after an intercession from the Gorica utensils factory, where he was employed. In January 1942 he was arrested with his wife and incarcerated in Jasenovac concentration camp where he was forced to feature along with some other Jewish artists including Daniel Ozmo and Daniel Kabiljo in a propaganda film. Brill worked for a while in the camp's ceramics workshop. He died from tuberculosis in January 1943. His wife and her mother perished in Đakovo internment camp. Slavko Kodrnja (1911–1970) was a footballer who played as a forward. Internationally, he played for Yugoslavia and the Independent State of Croatia. Club career In the 1939–40 season of the Portuguese league, he was the top scorer, tied with Fernando Peyroteo. He won the 1942 Croatian championship with Concordia Zagreb. International career Kodrnja made his debut for Yugoslavia during the 1933 Balkan Cup match against Greece, immediately scoring a hat-trick. Slavko Osterc (17 June 1895 – 23 May 1941), was a Slovenian composer. Osterc was born in Veržej. He studied under Emerik Beran, who was a pupil of Leoš Janáček, in his youth before attending the Prague Conservatory from 1925 to 1927. While there he studied under Karel Boleslav Jirák, Vítězslav Novák, and Alois Hába. Osterc was a professor at the Ljubljana Conservatory for much of his career, remaining there until his death.
