Skyway
A skyway, skybridge, skywalk, or sky walkway is an elevated type of pedway connecting two or more buildings in an urban area, or connecting elevated points within mountainous recreational zones. Urban skyways very often take the form of enclosed or covered footbridges that protect pedestrians from the weather. Open-top modern skyways in mountains now often have glass bottoms. Sometimes enclosed urban skywalks are made almost totally from glass, including ceilings, walls and floors. Also, some urban skyways function strictly as linear parks designed for walking. In North America skyways are usually owned by businesses, and are therefore not public spaces (compare with sidewalk). However, in Asia, such as Bangkok's and Hong Kong's skywalks, they are built and owned separately by the city government, connecting between privately run rail stations or other transport with their own footbridges, and run many kilometers. Skyways (Swedish Airline)
Skyways Express AB was a Swedish airline that operated regional and domestic scheduled services. With its corporate head office on the property of Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in Sigtuna Municipality, Sweden, its main hub was at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. The airline was placed into administration on 22 May 2012. Previously its head office was at Eurostop köpcenter, Cederströms slinga, Arlandastad. History The airline was established in 1987 and was previously known as Avia. It acquired Salair on 15 July 1991, Highland Air in March 1997 and Air Express in 1999. A partnership was forged with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) which acquired a 25% stake in April 1998. The owners were Salenia (72.7%), SAS (25%) and Janus (2.3%). Skyways (TV Series)
''Skyways'' is an Australian television soap opera drama series made by Crawford Productions for the Seven Network. Production and casting The series, which aired from 1979 to 1981, was set at the fictional Pacific International Airport and dealt with the lives of the pilots, airline staff and management team who worked there. ''Skyways'' was mainly taped in a television studio where, in many interior-set scenes, Colour Separation Overlay created the illusion of a bustling airport with taxiing planes outside the window. Many of the exterior scenes were shot on location at Melbourne Airport. The show's regular cast members included Tony Bonner as airport manager Paul MacFarlane, later replaced by Gary Doolan ( Gerard Kennedy).
