Skipping Girl Vinegar
Skipping Girl Vinegar are a Melbourne-based indie rock band, named after the Skipping Girl Sign, Skipping Girl Vinegar sign, located in Abbotsford, Victoria. 2004–2007: Formation and ''One Chance'' Forming in 2004 the quartet wrote and rehearsed solidly before debuting live in 2006. Once playing they soon secured support slots opening for larger acts such as Bob Evans (musician), Bob Evans, Shout Out Louds, The Lemonheads and Something For Kate before releasing the single "One Chance" and its filmclip later in the year. MGM Records
MGM Records was a record label founded by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio in 1946 for the purpose of releasing soundtrack recordings (later LP albums) of their musical films. It transitioned into a pop music label that continued into the 1970s. The company also released soundtrack albums of the music for some of their non-musical films as well, and on rare occasions, cast albums of off-Broadway musicals such as ''The Fantasticks'' and the 1954 revival of ''The Threepenny Opera''. In one instance, MGM Records released the highly successful soundtrack album of a film made by another studio, Columbia Pictures's ''Born Free'' (1966). Ash (band)
Ash are a Northern Irish rock band formed in Downpatrick in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Tim Wheeler, bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray. As a three-piece, they released mini-album '' Trailer'' in 1994 and full-length album '' 1977'' in 1996. This 1996 release was named by ''NME'' as one of the 500 greatest albums of all time. After the success of their full debut the band recruited Charlotte Hatherley as a guitarist and vocalist, releasing their second record ''Nu-Clear Sounds'' in 1998. After narrowly avoiding bankruptcy, the band released ''Free All Angels'' in 2001 and a string of successful singles. The band became a three-piece again in 2006 when Hatherley left, and after five conventional albums the band released 26 singles in the ''A-Z Series'' in 2009, one every two weeks. Splendour In The Grass
Splendour in the Grass (commonly referred to as Splendour) is an annual Australian music festival held at the North Byron Parklands in Yelgun, New South Wales. Since its inauguration, the festival has also been held in various locations near Byron Bay, New South Wales, and Woodford, Queensland. History The festival was jointly created and promoted by the Village Sounds Agency and Secret Service music companies, and began in 2001 as a one-day gathering to cater for Australia's winter season (a period that had traditionally been associated with very few events of this nature). ''Rage'' (stylised as ''rage'') is an all-night Australian music video program broadcast on ABC TV on Friday nights, Saturday mornings and Saturday nights. It was first screened on the weekend of Friday, 17 April 1987. Gregory Charles Arnold is an Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and academic. Arnold won the APRA Awards (Australia)#Songwriter of the Year, APRA Songwriter of the Year award in 1993 and performs regularly as a solo artist and with his folk rock band, Things of Stone and Wood. Biography By 1986 Greg Arnold was lead vocalist with Melbourne indie rock band, 13 at Midnight, which released a cover version of "She Sells Sanctuary" (originally by The Cult), on Cleopatra Records. The original line-up were Arnold, Russell Hall on bass guitar, Peter Pilley on drums, and Byron Smith on lead guitar (music journalist at ''Juke Magazine''). Aireys Inlet
Aireys Inlet is a small coastal inlet and town located on the Great Ocean Road, southwest of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Aireys Inlet is located between Anglesea and Lorne, and joined with Fairhaven, Moggs Creek, and Eastern View to the west. Many surfers holiday in Aireys Inlet to take advantage of the popular Fairhaven beach. As the inclination of the beach can change dramatically between years, the surf is regarded as unpredictable. Swimmers should take note there is a strong rip current. Painkalac Creek, which separates Aireys Inlet from Fairhaven, forms a salt lake or inlet behind the sand dunes before it cuts through to the ocean. Due to low water levels in the inlet it is not often that the inlet breaks through. Aireys Inlet is also famous for Split Point Lighthouse which was featured in the popular children's TV show Round The Twist.
