Siv Friðleifsdóttir
Siv Friðleifsdóttir (born 10 August 1962) (transliterated Siv Fridleifsdottir) is an Icelandic politician. Rarely used full name is Björg Siv Juhlin Friðleifsdóttir. She is half-Norwegian and she partly grew up in Norway, where she spent almost every summer next to the Oslofjord with her grandparents. She was a member of the Althing (Iceland's parliament) for the Progressive Party (Iceland), Progressive Party for the Reykjanes (Althing constituency), Reykjanes constituency from 1995 to 2003 and represented the Southwest (Althing constituency), Southwest Iceland constituency from 2003 to 2013. She has been Chairman of the Progressive Party parliamentary group since 2007, and was Minister of Health and Social Security (Iceland), Minister of Health and Social Security from 2006 to 2007, Minister for the Environment (Iceland), Minister for the Environment and Minister for Nordic Cooperation (Iceland), Minister for Nordic Cooperation from 1999 to 2004.

The Minister of Health ( is, Heilbrigðisráðherra) is a part of the Cabinet of Iceland. It is currently a part of the Ministry of Welfare (Iceland), Ministry of Welfare. History The cabinet position existed between 20 November 1959 and 1 January 1970 and again between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2010. The Ministry of Health existed alongside the Minister after 1 January 1970, when the Cabinet of Iceland Act no. 73/1969 took effect, since ministries had not formally existed separately from the ministers. Between 1 January 1970 and 1 January 2008 the position became Minister of Health and Social Security ( is, Heilbrigðis- og tryggingamálaráðherra), and the ministry itself was renamed accordingly. On 31 December 2010, the Ministry of Health was merged with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Security to form the Ministry of Welfare (Iceland), Ministry of Welfare.
