Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is a post-secondary education institution and statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Established in 1954, the institution is the first and oldest polytechnic in Singapore and is also renowned for its engineering programmes. ISO 14001
ISO 14000 is a family of standards related to environmental management that exists to help organizations (a) minimize how their operations (processes, etc.) negatively affect the environment (i.e. cause adverse changes to air, water, or land); (b) comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements; and (c) continually improve in the above. ISO 14000 is similar to ISO 9000 quality management in that both pertain to the process of how a product is produced, rather than to the product itself. As with ISO 9001, certification is performed by third-party organizations rather than being awarded by ISO directly. The ISO 19011 and ISO 17021 audit standards apply when audits are being performed. SPOP Sing! (season 1)
''SPOP Sing!'' () is a Chinese singing reality competition broadcast by MediaCorp Channel 8. Season 1 premiered on 9 August after the broadcast of National Day Parade and ended on the live finale on 4 November at Padang. During the live finals, 18-year-old Singapore Polytechnic student Jarrell Huang (17 at the time of his audition) was announced the winner of ''SPOP Sing!'', and 21-year-old LASALLE College of the Arts student Marcus Tay was declared as a runner-up. Development The show was first revealed to the public on 22 April 2018 during the broadcast of ''Star Awards 2018'' with a teaser clip uploaded to Toggle, aimed to promote the Chinese culture, the music genre of mandopop and xinyao, and paying tribute to local singing talents of Singapore. This is also the first S-Pop themed competition in more than a decade, since ''SPOP Hurray!'' in 2008. Jarrell Huang
Jarrell Huang Jun Rong (; born 14 October 2000) is a Singaporean singer and songwriter. In 2018, he was crowned champion of the local singing competition ''SPOP Sing!.'' In 2020, he participated in the Chinese male group competition show ''We Are Young''. Early life Huang studied at Maha Bodhi School and Chung Cheng High School. Pek Jin Shen (born 12 September 1992), better known by his stage name Shigga Shay ( stylised as ShiGGa Shay—the capitalised "GG" representing "Grizzle Grind"), is a Singaporean hip hop artist, songwriter, director and music producer. Kelly Poon
Kelly Poon (; born 11 July 1983) is a Singaporean singer who emerged from one of the Project SuperStar singing competition held in Singapore. Early life Kelly Poon graduated from Huamin Primary School and Yishun Town Secondary School. She later graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Maritime Transport Management in 2004. After graduation in 2004, she became an air stewardess with Singapore Airlines. Singapore Idol
''Singapore Idol'' is a reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by MediaCorp Studios and FremantleMedia Operations BV. It began airing on MediaCorp Channel 5 on 9 August 2004, as an addition to the Idol franchise based on the UK show Pop Idol, and became one of the most popular shows in the history of Singaporean television. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists where the winner is determined by the viewers. Through telephone and SMS text voting, viewers have chosen as winners Taufik Batisah, Hady Mirza and Sezairi Sezali. The series employs a panel of judges who critique the contestants' performances. Muhammad Taufik bin Batisah ( Jawi: محمد تيوفيك بن بتيسه; born 10 December 1981) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter best known for winning the first season of the reality TV series ''Singapore Idol''. Shih Choon Fong (; born 1945) is a Singaporean college administrator and fracture mechanics expert who served as the founding president of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) between 2008 and 2013.
