Silvia Intxaurrondo Alcaine (born 24 October 1979) is a Spanish journalist who works for the state broadcaster Televisión Española as a newscaster on the weekday ''La hora de La 1'' bulletins on La 1. She had previously worked for the television news channel CNN+ in 2005 and again in 2010, for Cuatro in 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2013, W Radio in Colombia between 2011 and 2012 as well as the regional broadcasters EITB from 2014 to 2015 and Telemadrid between 2017 and 2021. Biography On 24 October 1979, Intxaurrondo was born in Barakaldo, Spain. She had wanted to become a pediatrician but decided against it as she was wary of the negative implications if a child died. Intxaurrondo decided to aim for a career in journalism after watching war report bulletins when she was 14 years old. Barakaldo ( es, Baracaldo; eu, Barakaldo ) is a municipality located in the Biscay province in the Basque Country. ETB 1 is the first television channel from the Euskal Irrati Telebista group in the Basque Autonomous Community, Navarre and the French Basque Country. The channel broadcasts entirely in the Basque language. History In 1979 the Statute of Autonomy of the Basque Country was approved, the document contained the possibility of creating broadcast media owned by the Basque government, which would be used for the normalization of the Basque language. The channel began test transmissions on 31 December 1982 and officially launched on 16 February 1983 as ETB, using this name until the launch of its sister ETB 2 on 31 May 1986, at which point ETB was renamed to ETB 1. ''El Diario Vasco'' (English: ''The Basque Daily'') is a Spanish morning daily newspaper based in San Sebastián, Basque Country. María José "Pepa" Bueno Márquez (born 1964) is a Spanish journalist. She was host of the well-known radio show ''Hoy por hoy'' in Cadena SER.
