Silchester International Investors LLP is a London-based investment management company. One of the "designated members" of the limited liability partnership was Silchester Partners Limited until 30 June 2016, which was also the predecessor of the LLP. The other "designated members" were Stephen Charles Butt, Michael John Julian Cowan and Timothy John Linehan. The company had a subsidiary in the US as Silchester International Investors, Inc.. Limited Liability Partnership
A limited liability partnership (LLP) is a partnership in which some or all partners (depending on the jurisdiction) have limited liabilities. It therefore can exhibit elements of partnerships and corporations. In an LLP, each partner is not responsible or liable for another partner's misconduct or negligence. This distinguishes an LLP from a traditional partnership under the UK Partnership Act 1890, in which each partner has joint (but not several) liability.
