Shlomo Scharf
Shlomo Scharf ( he, שלמה שרף; born 1 January 1943) is a former Israeli football (soccer), football player and coach (sport), manager who now works as a regular commentator on Israeli Sport 5 TV channel. Scharf managed Maccabi Haifa to three championships, and was Israel national football team manager from 1992 to 1999. Managerial career Scharf managed the Israeli national team from 1992 to 1999 during which time he beat France 3-2 in an away game, and his contract was repeatedly extended due to his improvements. Further international victories were achieved against Poland and Bulgaria whilst qualifying for the European Championships and World Cup (France) respectively. His most notable victory is regarded to be his 5-0 win against Austria. Major losses were during two home games against Cyprus, and losing to Denmark in the Euro 2000 playoffs which ended his tenure as manager. Biysk
Biysk ( rus, Бийск, p=bʲijsk) is a city in Altai Krai, Russia, located on the Biya River not far from its confluence with the Katun River. It is the second largest city of the krai (after Barnaul, the administrative center of the krai). The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for " minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. In the 1985–86 Liga Leumit season Hapoel Tel Aviv won the title. Hapoel Haifa, Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Sha'arayim were all relegated to Liga Artzit. Uri Malmilian of Beitar Jerusalem and Doron Rabinzon of Maccabi Petah Tikva were the league's joint top scorers with 14 goals. The league championship was decided on the final day, with a match between the two title chasers, Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
