The Share Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by Canadians, Canadian celebrities Rex Goudie and Shaun Majumder. The organization was formed to help provide medical needs to the Baie Verte Peninsula, an area of Newfoundland (island), Newfoundland in desperate need of medical assistance, as many services are not offered on the peninsula, and residents must travel great distances to receive proper care. Rex Goudie
Rex Goudie (born November 18, 1985) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and was the runner-up of '' Canadian Idol 3''. Early life Rex Goudie was born in Dawson Creek, British Columbia and moved back to his father's hometown of Burlington, Newfoundland, Canada with his family when he was a year old. His mother was born in Baie Verte, Newfoundland to a moderately affluent family. Goudie was studying mechanical engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland as well as working as an auto mechanic part-time for his father's trucking company before ''Canadian Idol''. He received his first guitar for Christmas 1996 from his grandmother. Musical career Goudie's musical talents began in Sunday school, where he was encouraged by his grandmother Sophia to sing. Shaun Majumder
Shaun Vincent Majumder (born January 29, 1972) is a Canadian actor and comedian. He is best known for his role on ''This Hour Has 22 Minutes,'' where he worked from 2003 until 2018. He won a Gemini Award for his work on the series in 2006. Early life Majumder was raised in Burlington, Newfoundland by his mother Marian Bartlett, a European-Canadian woman from Newfoundland, and Mani Majumder, a Bengali Hindu man, originally from West Bengal, India. His parents separated after seven years. Majumder has an older sister named Rani. Baie Verte Peninsula
The Baie Verte Peninsula is a large peninsula on the north central coast of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Baie Verte Peninsula is a geologically complex area on the northwest coast of Newfoundland. The region is composed of multiple geological domains and has undergone extensive tectonic activity, uplift, and deformation, producing multiple unconformity surfaces. In addition, multiple phases of intrusion, some with volcanic cover sequences, add to the complexity of the geological model. The peninsula is home to many communities, the largest is Baie Verte where it gets its name.
