Shanghai Public Transport Card
The Shanghai Public Transportation Card (SPTC) ( also known as ) is a contactless card, utilizing RFID technology, which can be used to access many forms of public transport and related services in and around Shanghai. Uses The SPTC is a form of rechargeable cash card, and allows access to, among other things in Shanghai: *Metros *Airport maglev *Trams *Buses and trolleybuses *Ferries *Taxis *Tourist centers *Car parks *Fuel stations *Expressways *Auto repair service As of June 2006, the card has been interchangeable with the Wuxi Tai-Lake Transportation Card, and can also be used in Suzhou. A contactless smart card is a contactless credential whose dimensions are credit-card size. Its embedded integrated circuits can store (and sometimes process) data and communicate with a terminal via NFC. Commonplace uses include transit tickets, bank cards and passports. RFID
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. An RFID system consists of a tiny radio transponder, a radio receiver and transmitter. When triggered by an electromagnetic interrogation pulse from a nearby RFID reader device, the tag transmits digital data, usually an identifying inventory number, back to the reader. This number can be used to track inventory goods. Passive tags are powered by energy from the RFID reader's interrogating radio waves. Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enables communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm (1 in) or less. NFC offers a low-speed connection through a simple setup that can be used to bootstrap more-capable wireless connections. Overdraft
An overdraft occurs when something is withdrawn in excess of what is in a current account. For financial systems, this can be funds in a bank account. For water resources, it can be groundwater in an aquifer. In these situations the account is said to be "overdrawn". Shanghai Railway Station (Shanghai Metro)
Shanghai Railway Station () is an interchange station between lines 1, 3 and 4 on the Shanghai Metro. It is one of the stations where Line 3 and Line 4 share the same tracks and elevated platforms. The transfer between Line 1 and lines 3 and 4 is actually quite long. Both metro stations are located on the opposing sides of the train station with a long tunnel connecting both platforms. In addition to being an interchange between metro lines, the station facilitates transfer to Shanghai's main railway station. A tunnel leads directly from the concourse of the metro station to the concourse of the railway station.
