Scott Heidepriem
Scott N. Heidepriem (born June 25, 1956) is an American attorney and former South Dakota state legislator. Early life, education, and career Heidepriem graduated with his bachelors, masters, and juris doctor from the University of South Dakota. He later graduated from John F. Kennedy School of Government with a masters in public administration. Heidepriem is a past president of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers. Political career In 1986, Heidepriem ran for the Republican nomination for the United States House of Representatives from South Dakota's At-large congressional district, but he lost to Dale Bell. In 2000, Heidepriem switched from the Republican party to the Democratic Party. In 2006, Heidepriem successfully ran as a Democrat for the South Dakota State Senate and was re-elected in 2008 against State Representative Phyllis Heineman. Chris Nelson (politician)
Chris Nelson (born August 18, 1964) is an American politician serving as a member of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission. Nelson had previously served as Secretary of State of South Dakota from 2003 to 2011. A Republican, he was a candidate to become U.S. Representative from South Dakota's At-large congressional district in 2010, but lost to Kristi Noem in the Republican primary. Susan M. Wismer (born December 13, 1955) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the South Dakota House of Representatives who represented District 1. Wismer was the Democratic nominee in the 2014 South Dakota gubernatorial election. Biography Susan M. (Jones) Wismer was born in Britton, South Dakota to Maurice and Dorthy Jones. She's the oldest of six siblings and grew up on the family farm in northeast South Dakota. She attended Britton Elementary and High schools (now Britton-Hecla) and graduated with a degree in English from Augustana College in 1978. John "Jack" Billion (born March 4, 1939, Minnehaha County, South Dakota) was the 2006 Democratic Party candidate for Governor of South Dakota and served as a Member of the South Dakota House of Representatives from the 13th district from 1993 to 1997.
