Sam Menegola
Sam Menegola (born 7 March 1992) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He had previously been listed by Hawthorn and Fremantle, but didn't play a senior game for either club. He is related to former Swan Districts premiership winner and Richmond player, Todd Menegola. Early career Originally from East Fremantle in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), Menegola was first drafted in the 2011 rookie draft by Hawthorn with their first selection and nineteenth overall. He spent one season with Hawthorn before being delisted at the end of the 2011 season. He was drafted again in the 2012 rookie draft by Fremantle, with their third selection and forty-fourth overall. He spent three injury interrupted seasons with Fremantle without playing an AFL match and was delisted at the end of the 2014 season. Todd Clement Menegola (born 25 December 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Australian Football League (AFL). Menegola started his career at Swan Districts in 1989 and was from Mukinbudin originally. He was a member of the Swan Districts WAFL premiership winning team in 1990. Richmond acquired his services via the 1990 National Draft, at pick 16. He played in the AFL for three seasons, then returned to Swan Districts. He was on Fremantle's list in 1995 but didn't play a senior AFL game with the club. Patrick Dangerfield
Patrick Dangerfield (born 5 April 1990) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Adelaide Football Club. Drafted by Adelaide in 2007, Dangerfield was immediately able to make a lasting impression with his ability to explode from stoppages through the midfield as well as play virtually all of the forward positions. Dangerfield is widely considered one of the best players of the 2010s. Since debuting in 2008, Dangerfield's accomplishments include winning the Brownlow Medal, the Leigh Matthews Trophy, and the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award. Sandover Medal
The Sandover Medal is an Australian rules football award, given annually since 1921 to the fairest and best player in the West Australian Football League. The award was donated by Alfred Sandover M.B.E., a prominent Perth hardware merchant and benefactor. Voting system After each match, the three field umpires (those umpires who control the flow of the game) confer and award a 3, 2 and 1 point vote to the players they regard as the best, second best, and third best in the match respectively. Voting wasn't always done this way. From 1985-2018, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point votes were given, from 1930–1984, 3, 2 and 1 point votes were given, and prior to 1930 there was only one vote per game. The Subiaco Football Club, nicknamed the Lions and known before 1973 as the ''Maroons'', is an Australian rules football club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). Peel Thunder Football Club
The Peel Thunder Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team is based in Mandurah, Western Australia, with their home ground being Rushton Park. The club joined the WAFL as an expansion team in 1997. Since 2014 Peel have been in a formal alignment with the Fremantle Dockers of the Australian Football League, an arrangement which sees Fremantle's reserve players play for Peel.
